Sometimes I seriously think my stepmother HATES it when I play video games.

Everytime she walks in and I'm playing a video, she tells me to turn it off or "that's enough."

Why?

She hates the sounds of me pressing the buttons on the controller.

Like, literally, this morning I was playing Destiny on my PS4 with my younger cousin. We were on one mission, literally playing for just like, 5 minutes into the round and she tells me to turn it off!

Well, hello?

I'm supposed to hit the buttons in order to FIRE MY GUN at the enemy, for me to survive!

UGH!!!!

I've had this conversation MULTIPLE times with my dad over the last few years about this. Since she grew up in the country, she prefers the peace and quiet.

Let's do a comparison.

Earlier this morning, my grandmother was also in the room while I was playing video games. She never said ANYTHING! Why? Because she's used to the fact that her granddaughter plays video games, and gets a TINY bit aggressive. In fact she's used to it because ALL of her grand kids play video games. She and my grandpa even bought a NINTENDO WII for us all to play at their house.

But my stepmother?

She doesn't last five minutes.

And even yesterday, I was playing Adventure Quest Worlds on my laptop and I HAVE to hit the mouse button in order to attack.

Both of my grandparents and stepmother were in the room.

My grandparents? Did say a peep.

My stepmother?

Mom: "What are you doing?"

Me: "Playing a game."

And then, she looks at me and flutters her eyelashes with annoyance as she QUIETLY SCOFFS, sneak fully rolls her eyes at me and looks back at her iPad.

Um.... EXCUSE ME?!

Attitude much!

I've gotten very close with video games ever since my original mom passed away. She and dad got me my very first game system after all, a Playstation 2!

If my stepmother is trying to get me to play less games because she's annoyed, then we're going to have a SERIOUS problem, because I ain't getting rid of my passion for gaming any time soon.

I think I need to have another chat with my dad about this.
