Chapter --
It was getting colder...
And a little hard to breathe...
The wind was a lot stronger this high up.
But...
Takuto looked around the landscape behind him. Scaling such a tower was no small feat, the scenery was like one out of a painting. He'd never do it under normal circumstances, there were hundreds of other matters that required his attention...
But he promised he'd do anything for him.
Well, at least it wasn't too hard to find him. Anything and everything that came across that path would peculiarly walk around a particular spot, as if they all could sense something invisible there, blocking the way... and there really was.
...
Takuto took a deep breath. When it came to him, he never knew what he was about to see. Would he look human... or like a creature he couldn't even comprehend? Would he glow gently, beautifully, like usual... or was this the time he'd go blind? Would he even be able to believe whatever he saw, or did he just climb a tower for a figment of his imagination?
...
He most likely had his entire lifetime to contemplate these things, but instead, with an unusual sense of thrill in his stomach, he turned around as fast as he could, and opened his eyes.
...
Well he wasn't blind.
Nor has he lost his mind.
But he still did have questions...
He appeared human, fortunately... or at least similar to one. Takuto could notice what looked like long blonde hair flowing over his shoulders, and he even mimicked clothing. Like a human, sitting on the ground with his head buried in his knees. As if he was getting more used to the form they imagined up for him together...
The only problem was, he was large.
Very very large.
And if Takuto looked closer, he was growing every second...
...
Takuto had no idea why he was the one lucky enough to be able to see him, but...
He didn't look very happy at the moment.
Maybe its because he was meant to fix that.
"Hey..." Takuto called out lowly. Loudly or softly, he knew the other could hear him. The other probably knew he was there already without even looking up.
...
"I'm here... that's ok, right?"
...
"It seemed like you enjoyed talking with me before..."
...
"If you wanted to do that again... if you need to vent, I'll listen."
...
"I'll listen to everything."
...
...
No response...
But Takuto was used to this...
He perched himself on the ledge, crossing off things on his mental to do list that he'd unfortunately never get to, and also cursing himself for doing so...
He just couldn't help it.
The other was just too interesting... strangely compelling...
He still hadn't even figured out if he was real...
...
...
...
...
"Ahh..."
Takuto perked up. Had it been hours, or mere minutes? He didn't care, he couldn't care. Once he took a look at the other, it had to have been literally impossible to look away.
He'd finally lifted his head from his knees, such a slow, simple action, and yet the whole planet had to have stirred because of it. And when Takuto saw his face... well...
It was extremely difficult for his eyes to focus...
But from what he could tell...
He had golden lashes... there had to be millions on one eye alone. And the eyes themselves... dark as a void, but at the same time somehow... looked like endless galaxies... what looked like blinding gold irises... And from those two strange eyes flowed, what he considered, tears... thick like streams of sparkling golden lava flowing down his cheeks, over his chin, down his neck, shoulders, over his knees and ankles... into the ground.
They never ended.
He looked like a powerful divine being, and a small child both at the same time.
Takuto couldn't even imagine what could cause the utter look of devastation on such a maddeningly beautiful face...
It was a bit difficult to think of anything at the moment...
So he only repeated what he said before...
"I'll listen..."
...
The other only stared... stared into the other with those large glowing eyes...
If Takuto dared to look closely, he could notice a small look of relief... hope...
Before they fell apart...
Before he buried his hands into his blonde hair....
And the being began to vent.
