Weird Topic/ Death Penellty

Death penalties. Oh man. This is a huge debate for me, so move in by if you don't like more wordy debates.

Gone? Okay, let's get to the fun stuff.

Death penalties have killed 1400 people since 1900 who were innocent. This may not seem like many people, but if you estimate that they had mothers and fathers, as well as a sibling, and all of them had 4 grandparents [one from each side] and each had 3 close friends, the amount of people affected is.... 26400. 26400 people are affected, not to mention the executioner who would feel horrible killing an innocent, and on the fact of executioners, think of their job. "Oh yeah, my job is to heal people, as a doctor! What about you Tom?" "Oh yeah, my job is to kill people!" Think about that! And not to mention the fact it has to be degrading to know every day, you are the one who ends someone's life. Why? Why put that sort of stress, that sort of PAIN on an innocent who did no harm, when there are other choices! Even IF you don't count all of the points over, shouldn't anyone, even a criminal, deserve a chance? If they were raised and nurtured to think that killing was natural, and that stealing was the only way, why wouldn't they? What reason do they have to not trust their parents? These are the people they grew up, and respected. And what happens if they have a mental disorder? Do they just die? What for? Because they were born wrong? That's like killing someone for having autism, or OCD! NO ONE DOES IT, it's considered MURDER for something they didn't have a chance for, so what's the different with a disorder that makes them killers? There should not be one. Now I'm not saying that they should be let off, certainly not. I'm not saying criminals should be running around with these points as excuses, that would ruin the society. No, I propose they go to jail for life, and are not treated with good food, good health care and a TV, I mean prison like it should be, minimum food, no interaction with others unless it's a guard who's patrolling the prison or a therapist. Yup. A therapist. A therapist. They would know if someone was wrongly jailed because they are trained to read a human and change them for the better. You could almost see it as an author reading a book that had a sad ending, and made a noncanon/fanfic where it ended happily. They could change the people who didn't know right from wrong, who didn't know black from white, and show them. They could help a psychopath calm their inner self calling for them to kill. They shouldn't be let out of jail, after all they did kill a man, and the therapists should have a guard for angry prisoners and bad days, but all in all, a better, easier, happier, solution to murder. Many, however, complain that this takes taxpayer money, and that it is unfair we as paying OUR money to help CRIMINALS, and to that I say, are you valuing a HUMAN LIFE for MONEY? A life is a life, and everyone started at a clean, smooth, slate. While these people may have slates that are now darkened, it can only be an extremely dark shade of grey, and one day, maybe, it will be possible for their slate to be not erased [a mark will stay forever, no matter what] but to emerge from the rubble better. However, if you kill them, what chance do they have?

Anyways, leave your opinion in the comments. NightWing out.
