Oh lord this stupid battle

Now i would like to adresss two points before i begin

One: i know its a action movie and its supposed to look cool but im still gonna point out the stupid

Two: im not critizing the movie as a whole im just focusing on this battle and the stupidity of the enemy here

Now onto the rant

Now i love ancient battles there always amazing to read about the tactics used, the leader ship of opposing armies etc

And when it comes to greek battles i know how the greeks work generally

Like the phalanx

Which in this movie is a combo of roman shields used with greek phalanx but still works the same

So you think who ever this traitor is (i dont bother to remember is name) would know how the damn phalanx works right?

...... NOPE

How do i know?

Well im gonna break this down into simple categorys

Terrain

What went wrong

And how the enemy could of won

Firstly

Terrain:

Now for any military picking the right terrian of the battle field can mean the difference in any battle

Now for a phalanx it can work easily on a wide open field but its flanks and rear are vunrebale

But lets look at the enemy decided to engage hercules army

Lets see

Cliffs to their right, hills on their left, a forest behind them and a wide open valley basically infront of them

I think if you seen the movie 300 youll know why this terrain is really good for a phalanx

What went wrong:

So ima say this off the bat in my opinion... the chariots werent needed much on hercules side

Ok

So many things were terrible on the enemys part

Just throwing a lose horde of men and horsemen at a fully formed phalanx head on... like yeah you have the numbers but doesnt mean anything if you can use them effectively (*cough* russia *cough*)

And so ontop of terrible terrian pick, a pathetic horde of a army thats getting destroyed you think it cant get stupider right?..... right?

Theh the fire arrows....... oh my lord where do i begin...

You know what the phalanx is good at defending from...... arrows

And whats funny is those shields.. while made of wood wouldnt have caught fire since its treated hardwood

And as you saw everyone was fine

And the look on the enemy leaders face...... BITCH WHY ARE YOU SURPRISED?!?!.

Now for how they could of won

Yes  the enemy outnumbered them three to one but the terrian basically limited them to a full frontal assualt

What they should of done was pick a wide open plain where they could of surrounded the heros and put them in a reeeeeeallllly bad position

And ditch the flame arrows.... those are just stupid
