Imagine if you could hear when people were thinking about you. Like mindreading, except targeted. You wouldn't be able to hear if the person behind you in the lunch line was thinking about their sister's boyfriends, but you could hear the person three tables away debating about whether they would sit with you or not. It would be limited to a specific range, too; say, just the room you're in, or within eyesight in a circle around you. Would be fascinating.
