Wolfstar: Revised
Ok, so, Wolfstar.
Wolfstar is a VERY popular ship in this fandom.
It's so incredibly popular in fact, that it is considered blasphemous by some not to ship it. I don't agree with this.
Where is it?
Where is it in canon?
I know it's mentioned Sirius did not have a serious or substantial 'lover' but you can't simply claim canon because one party was romantically inactive, as far as we know.
1. Sirius' love life or lack thereof. There are many reasons Sirius may not have taken a 'lover'. Some of which being: he simply wasn't interested, he was too busy (war takes a lot out of ya', folks), he was doing it to further spite his family orrrrrr he was in love with somebody who was unavailable.
2. Remus' relatively easy acceptance of Sirius' passing. I get it, ok? I understand that you could view Remus' marrying of Tonks as a midlife crisis but maybe he simply.. liked Tonks. This man.. my man Lupin really started a family after his alleged true love died.. yeah. Need I go on? Remus had clearly moved on, if there had ever been anything there.
3. Their friend group. The Marauders. If you've ever been in a 'friend group' of three to five, you've probably experienced this set up/layout; one main person that everyone's friends with. In this case, that is James. This person usually tends to be considered the 'leader'. We then have the guy that doesn't really fit in but is there because you're kinda genuinely friends with them, for the most part. I imagine/take this to be Peter. Then we have the main three. The core three. The three that are usually together and known by everyone. James, Sirius and Remus. These three usually hang out together.
Then we have the too close TM two. You know, the two that are usually acting like family or an old married couple. Now, Wolfstarians (does anyone call you that? Sorry), please don't crucify me but I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say those two were James and Sirius.
Hear me out.
Sirius seems to be the most affected by James' passing. This could be partly because of his time in Azkaban. Remus continues with his lfie without much fuss, Peter goes on much the same way he had before but Sirius, even after escaping is so very distraught by James' passing that it is a very distinctive part of who he is as a character and person.
The movie added the well-known phrase "Nice one, James!" which shows that Sirius may have considered and thought of Harry as more of an extension of James than his own person or say, Sirius' Godson.
People like to make out that Sirius and Remus were so incredibly close but really.. they weren't.
Sirius lured fellow student Severus Snape to the Shrieking Shack during a time Remus, who is supposed to be one of his best friends and his alleged true love/lover is extremely vulnerable.
Now, had it not been for James, Severus may have ended that night as a werewolf.
Does that strike you as the sort of thing one who was in love would do?
No.. not really.
Sirius was willing to recklessly give up Remus and quite possibly ruin his life for a joke on Severus.
That's not being a good friend.
I don't know if I'd expect Remus to forgive Sirius for that.
So, my conclusion is:
It's not going to happen, imo
Don't know where it came from (I do)
Don't personally ship it
I respect the varying opinions of others'
And if any two marauders were romantically involved, logically, it would be Sirius and James.
