-------////////////////////////////////////
12: My Baby Does Me. I just don't like this. I think it's their worst song. One of my least favorites. I do not like the lyrics, either. This and She Makes Me (Stormtrooper In Stilettos) just have very simple words.
11: Chinese Torture. I don't have much to say about this one. It's slightly operatic, kind of intense. It's also completely instrumental. It reminds me a bit of Mr. Bad Guy, for some reason.
10: Was It All Worth It. This one is kind of obvious. You know, "was it all worth it, living, breathing rock 'n roll" so it's not really one I listen to. Reminds me of More Of That Jazz. I also get bored of this. The beginning kinda catches my attention, but I don't think this one is very memorable. Good guitar, sounds like Tear It Up to me. Mystical keyboard or something throughout the song and ending it.
9: Hang On In There. An interesting message, but this one is also not too memorable. I can never remember the melody of this one. 80s/disco sound to it. Kinda Michael Jackson sound to it as well. A good vocal take, I like the scat part. It changes tempo a bit, which sounds unusual slightly.
8: Scandal. Somehow, I feel like John wrote some of the lyrics. I don't think he wrote the music, because it sounds too heavy compared to his own songs. This song is somewhat powerful, it sounds like it's about the press interfering with the couple's lives. I don't know how to feel about it, really. Powerful lyrics and vocals.
7: Party. Another short one, I like the energy. It goes into Khashoggi's Ship very smoothly. I think the line, "we had a food fight in somebody's face" is kind of funny (and dirty), but in all seriousness, it's a catchy song. I like the melody and harmonies.
6: I Want It All. A really good rock song. It's very catchy with the chorus, and it's sort of an anthem. It has a great heavy/fast rock section as well. I like the album version with the, "I want it now-ow-ow" part during a guitar break. This one, like One Vision gets in my head just by looking at the title. The Freddie and Brian duet part is nice.
5: Rain Must Fall. The latin percussion on this track is great. Very interesting. This song's instruments remind me of a kind of jungle-y vibe. The song sounds like a Freddie and John track, even though the songs are all credited to Queen, not individual members. It has good lyrics, similar to Keep Passing The Open Windows in the case of a realistic point of view. "There's little you can do to alter their opinions" is my favorite line.
4: The Miracle. A very good song. I find this one inspiring. It's very light-hearted and happy, even with Freddie knowing he was ill. This song just mentions the wonders of the world, and it has a hopeful message for peace. The video is so good and adorable with the kids. An interesting idea for a video. Brian describes this as a magical track, and I kind of agree. I like the bass a lot in this.
3: The Invisible Man. The beginning with the whispering is something I like, it sets the feeling for the song. To me, the message is "nobody noticed me before, so now I'm your worst fear." Which is very deep. I have a hard time distinguishing when Roger is singing compared to when Freddie is. They might switch halfway in the first verse? The song is famously similar to Ghostbusters. Roger seems to have been the 'main writer' of this track. I like the "hah, hah, hah, hello/never had a real good friend" parts. If you listen at that part, the harmonies go "who goes there?" Which is another favorite part of mine.
2: Khashoggi's Ship. I love Freddie's vocals on this, especially the very croaky/scratchy parts ( "everybody! Party to the left, party to the right" etc.) I find the lyrics amusing. The way he says, "he pulled out a gun" reminds me of Put Out The Fire. I like the ending music as well. It's pretty short, though. Not even three minutes long. I like the song in general and when the say "no-one stops my- party-" it sounds like Breakthru. It might've been intended. It's also dirty at the end ( "lay mine in the middle, do it all night/two within the middle with you"
1: Breakthru. I love the intro with the harmonies, I think the melody is beautiful. It was originally for a song called "A New Life Is Born", but eventually got combined with this song. I like the rhythm and words, it is very much like a moving train energy, which John said Roger came up with the idea of a train. Freddie and him came up with 'The Miracle Express." I especially like the first few lyrics, "when love breaks up. When the dawn light wakes up, a new life is born." I think it's pretty. Headlong is a word used in both this and the Innuendo song with this name.
