Chapter Six: A Hidden Force

After school couldn't of come quicker as the the gang met up in the park. It wasn't a picnic or anything like that. They all wanted to relax here without there being an attack. This was the location known for this. You know this, and it was all too true. But now for once, they could enjoy it wasn't like that anymore. Well, at least for now that is. They liked it this way. To be normal kids again.
You would expect all of them to feel the same. However, it actually wasn't like that. For two of the former Rangers, it felt uncomfortable and not promising. Their normal lives have too much to tell in general. It's been hidden from their friends for a while now and they weren't sure when the best time would be to dive in. Did they inform each other about their secrets? No. The two being on the same boat was even a secret. And they definitely knew how to do that.
Contemplating this was worse than fighting an alien. That was the only thing keeping that off of their minds. The secrets, the stories, the background. It was so much to reveal and so much to even handle. Were they ready? Was it time? That was uncertain. Much like how I'm not revealing the two teens I'm talking about. I'll let you figure that out. I've got to keep something interesting for myself.

"Yo, you guys think we should do a class prank?" Jake asked.

"Why?" Noah returned in question.

"Why not? We're seniors. We're graduating. It's something to do. Lets hit it!" Jake responded.

Noah sat up straighter in his spot.

"I'm with Jake." Gia agreed.

The others, along with Jake, were fairly surprised. Not that she wouldn't mind pulling something like this, its just new. Although, her boyfriend grinned after that.

"Really? Won't we get in trouble?" Emma asked.

"Only if we get caught." Jake answered.

"Besides, we should make this year count. It's not gonna be like this forever. So much has happened, it's about time we do what we want and decide what we want to do." How added.

That was something everyone could agree with. Emma looked over at Noah, who shrugged. She then took a glance at Orion, who was trying to figure out the new phone the guys had bought him. He pressed the buttons rapidly and listened to what each one did. It made Emma laugh a little. That's when her gaze shifted to the last of her friends. His hand was grasping one of his shoulders and rubbed it back and forth. His eyes were closed as he was breathing rather slowly. This sent a surge of curiosity through the young lady.

"So, we doing this or what?" Jake asked.

Emma returned her attention to him.

"I guess it wouldn't be so bad." Noah decided.

"Yes!" Jake yelled.

He high fived his best friend happily. The three stared at the one dressed in pink. She sat back and shrugged.

"Why not?" Emma agreed.

Jake beamed. The four stared at the other two. A ringtone had returned to their ears. Orion cocked an eybrow as he turned it off. The others laughed.

"Okay, let me help you with that." Noah said.

The alien moved over one as Noah joined him. He took the phone and helped him undersand what it was used for and how to use it. The bench had room for one more, which Emma happily took. She laid a hand on her buddy's shoulder as he finally came to.

"Does the park always make you do that?" Emma asked playfully.

The former leader shook his head. He shifted a little as his friend could tell something wasn't right.

"Are you okay?" Emma quizzed concerned.

The newbie nodded. That didn't sway Emma one bit.

"Yes." Troy replied.

Emma was unconvinced. The tone in his voice changed. He was not fine. He couldn't be fine. Why? Because if he was fine, he wouldn't sound or look so...different. We all know it was like this since the beginning. However, the big change from then to now is that he was indeed trying to hold something back. For once, whatever he was feeling was starting to break through. The stone and block of wood that was Troy Burrows was now trying to crumble into debris. How could you tell? Not only in his voice, but how he tugged on his jacket. It was rather hard and slow. Both of which was weird.

"I think I know what your thinking about." Jake cut in.

The two stared at him.

"You know." Jake continued.

His eyebrows bounced as Troy rolled his eyes.

"Oh don't deny it. You know I'm right." Jake teased.

Gia held back a smile. Troy looked to Emma, who shrugged.

"I think she's okay. I don't know her that well to say much." The teen answered.

"At least you have that in common." Jake replied.

Though not meaning to make it sound like that, Troy had taken that as an insult. He knew it was true. He knew that the statement his friend made was right. That's why he didn't counteract it. And though he was 'fine', Emma immediately took action.

"I think he meant that you two are very good people and probabaly choose to keep things private with their life." She clarified.

The brunette elbowed her pal. He winced a little as he looked at his other friend. Had this bothered him?

"But she probably doesn't want a boyfriend or probably already has one. So why bother?" Troy asked.

"It's worth a try." Gia replied.

Troy sighed and shrugged. A warm sensation had flowed through his veins. It caused him to grab his shirt and tug on it. A faint glow came from his chest. He could see it, but the others couldn't. But surely enough, the girls noticed something. Something near the bushes.

"Guys, what's that?" Emma asked.

The four males looked up. Their attention went towards the bushes. With a quick glance at one another, everyone had gotten up. Ready for any sort of strangeness, they all walked over. Troy and Noah nodded. The two pulled the plants back. Nothing. They were all confused. If something was back there, why didn't it come out?

"Are you sure you saw something?" Orion asked.

Emma nodded. Then, as if it was knockout, a huge force of energy hit the crew. Everyone was on the ground. Their groans were the only boise after that. Jake pulled the girls up as Noah and Orion looked around.

"What was that?" Troy wondered.

Orion shrugged. That rush of warmth returned to the red ranger. He felt it grow a little stronger than last time. He took a deep breath as he looked down. That glow. That same glow had came back brighter. Following that, pain began to rise. It felt like a bowling ball hitting his balls. He almost fell over, if Noah didn't catch him. He helped him regain his composure.

"What's wrong?" The genius asked.

His friend shook his head, indicating it was nothing. Today just became more and more off for Troy. The sudden pain, that glow, that phone call to which will play a bigger role later, himself. Whatever was going on didn't make any sense. Not to any one of them. This was absolutely a head scratcher.

"Someone's here. I can feel it." Gia said.

The group stood by one another. That's when they were pushed around again. Trying to catch him was pointless. It was air. Pure air. They all landed on one another.

"Bro, your foot's in my face." Jake said.

"Is it in your mouth?" Orion asked.

"No." Jake replied.

"Then you'll live." Orion reassured.

Jake rolled his eyes as everybody got up. An alert was heard near them. The silver ranger picked up his phone.

"It's a call." He said.

"From who?" Emma asked.

"Gosei." Orion answered.
