Chapter 5: Still In Love?
Y/N's POV:
The next day was full of questions and a lot of explaining to Destiny. "And my friend, Kai," I continued, walking to he lunch table with a tray in my hands, "he was injured and we didn't know who or what happened. I'm a little freaked out, to be completely honest with-" Suddenly, my heart jumped in my throat as my foot tripped over something and I threw my tray in the air.
"Y/N!" Destiny yelled, but it was too late. I fell on the ground and closed my eyes, ready for whatever was on my tray to come crashing own on me. And it was just as I expected. Gravy and mashed potatoes in my hair, milk on my back, and ice cream all over me. I was cold and warm at the same time. But all I could do was whip my head back to see who or what tripped me. And guess who I see, smiling smugly at me, a twisted lie in her eyes?
"Theresa!" I yelled, propping myself up on my elbow. "What the hell?!"
"Oops! I'm so sorry, Y/N," she said sweetly. I gritted my teeth and felt so mad that tears formed in my eyes.
"Hey, you! Shut up! I saw what you did," a boys voice called. I looked back at where the voice came from and a tall, slender but still muscular built boy started waking toward me. He had sandy blond hair and light freckles that dusted under his deep blue eyes. The same cold energy wove its way around my ribs and back to my forehead.
Theresa suddenly looked like she had been slapped in the face. "Leave her alone," he said, kneeling down, taking my hand and helping me up. I exchanged glances with Destiny. And we both had the same idea. Osprey!
The boy stared Theresa in the eye, his blue eyes cold and frosted over as a smooth river stone. I stood by him and he wrapped his arm around my back and his hand latched onto my shoulder. "Let's get you to the nurse," he said quietly, his icy eyes thawing to an ocean blue; friendly.
I nodded and we walked away, all three of us.

"Nothing's broken, nothing's bruised," the nurse said, walking away. "Just need a good cleaning." She smiled at me and I smiled back, but it was fake. Underneath, I was a mixture of boiling mad and curious. I glanced at the boy, still not knowing his name. I hopped off the table/or/chair and walked up to him. God, I bet I looked terrible.
"Hey, thanks," I said, smiling. "What's your name, by the way?" The boy jerked his head to the side before smiling coolly. I was a little stunned.
"My name's Owen," she said. I felt like my heart was vibrating. Or it was sky diving. I don't know what it was, but I think I felt like I was in love... No! It can't be! I have to stay strong... What would Randy say? I thought, looking away.
We walked out of the office, silence enclosing us. Once we were at my locker, and no one was around, I looked back at Owen. "Ok, did you have that same feeing? The cold?" I asked quietly and quickly. He nodded.
"I'm the Osprey, and you must be the White Ninja, Snowbird, correct?" He asked. I nodded and felt hope rise in my heart.
"Alright," I said, "this is Destiny, the lavender Ninja...?" Destiny nodded.
"Ok, Destiny, can you help me out and take Owen to my house at around... 5?" I asked.
"Sure," she said.
"We'll talk about this alliance later, ok?"
(Hours later...)
"Oh, Y/N! Your friends are here!"
"Coming mom!" I called, running down the stairs. I sped up to the door, smiling when I saw Destiny and Owen. They waved at me and I hugged them. "C'mon, let's go up stairs," I said.
"Do you kids need any snacks or anything?" Mom asked. I shook my head.
"No, we'll be find mom," I said, leading the two upstairs. Once we were in my room, I shut the door and locked it.
"Ok, time to get down to business," I sighed, clapping my hands together. "Owen, do you have a ninja mask?"
"Nah, I got something way better!" He said, pulling out a large, curved piece of metal. I stared at the gilded item, wondering.
"Uhm... Could you show this to us?" I asked. Owen set off a dashing grin and nodded, placing the metal on his face. He mumbled some words, too fast for me to catch, and suddenly a larger sheet of metal latched onto his face. I gasped and jumped away. And finally, I saw it. The gilded metal piece was his mask, and the small sheet of metal hid the rest of his face, leaving a few small holes for him to breathe in/out of.
All together, he looked like a bird of prey. "What about the rest of your suit?" Destiny asked.
"I'm still building it," Owen replied, poking a ruby red diamond embedded in the golden piece. My mouth dropped open a little.
"But... You're suit is...? What?" I couldn't summon the words to express my amazement. Owen nodded and smiled as the metal retracted into the first golden metal price.
"Then you can't be a Ninja!" Destiny exclaimed, jumping to her feet. She came right up in Owens face, her left hand in a fist of anger. "How dare you mock us like-"
"Wait, Destiny," I said quickly. I placed my hand on her shoulder. "He is the Osprey. He just has his own suit he made himself. That's all." Destiny blinks at me before nodding and sitting back down. But her brown eyes still held a burning glare on Owen.
"That's really cool, Owen!" I said, smiling at him. He nodded and smiled back.
"I can do a few tweaks to your suits if-"
"Not. Mine." Destiny growled. Owen shot her a freezing glance before turning back to me.
"If you wanted," he said. I felt my heart start to pound a bit harder.
"Like what?" I said, nearly whispered.
Reaper's POV:
Beep. Beep. Beep. Ka-chunk. Whiiiiirrrrrrrrrrr... Hissssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhat. Data recovered. Hello, Reaper.
I opened my eyes to see shadows and light, but nothing was clear until I could focus my eyes on what I was staring at. But... Wasn't I dead? The dragons... Snowbird... Ninja...! I felt my arm, only hanging on by three wires shift around to find mangled pieces of machinery. "Well...," I sighed into the silence. "Time for an update."
