Chapter 25: Eternal Flame

Y/N's POV:

"I... I..." My hands were weak and my arms shook as I stared at the blue forget me nots. The trap door behind me slammed close and the other Ninja rushed in to help... but nothing could be done. Blue was gone. Just like Sakira and Kai, she had been turned to flowers. I bit my lip, trying to stop myself from crying anymore, especially in front of everyone else.
I didn't want to seem heartless, but I didn't want to look weak either. I swallowed hard and stood up and turned around. Ninja's eyes flashed sadness, but the others were shocked and horrified. "I... I couldn't... I..." My words were useless in this situation. I had to take the bull by the horns and steer away from the conversation... somehow.
"There was nothing you could do," Ninja said. I stared at him, angered and hurt.
"Yes there was!! I could have tried harder to get her out!" I yelled. I pushed his hand away and just wanted to disappear from this place. I knew exactly what was going to happen. We were all going to die here, unless a certain miracle happened that could get us out of this problem. The rest of the Ninja were silent. Reaper finally crept forward and scanned the flowers.
"She's still alive," he said, standing up. I crossed my arms and narrowed my eyes. I could have saved her. I could have! If only I had tried more. Or... if Shira had told me what she knew! I thought bitterly. My thoughts broke when Myst's hand landed on my shoulder.
"As Ninja had said," she advised sharply, "there was nothing you could have done." I stared into her eyes, and huffed out a sigh.
"I'm sorry, Myst. I just thought that I could have saved her somehow...," I said quietly.
"The only way to move on from this is to move forward, no matter the casualties. Do you understand? We have to take down the enemy. At the battle of the Alamo, did anyone stop and surrender when their friends died?" she asked. I shook my head and looked at my feet.
"No. So this isn't any different. We have to try. And even if things don't turn out as we have hoped, at least we tried, right?" Her words were warm and were like a pillow over sharp rocks when I was falling to my death. She was right. All we had to do was try, no matter what the consequences were. I stood up and walked over to Ninja and the others.
"Guys, we have to keep moving."
"But what if we all end up like Sakira and Blue!?" cried Esmerelda. "We'll be dead!" I nodded in agreement with her that it was a scary thought that we might all die.
"But we have to at least try and take down the enemy. We know what his angle is on us and how he has the upper hand. So we have to learn to dodge the traps and to keep moving forward. Reaper, have you mapped our way through here?" I turned to him.
"Yes, Snowbird."
"Alright. Then all we have to do is move on, and fight harder," I said with an encouraging nod. Ninja and Reaper nodded in agreement, followed by Carissa and Myst. Esmerelda hesitated, but nodded with a brave stare.
"Then let's go."

The farther we got down the halls, the more confusing it got. Darkness rounded every corner, only to be met by the bright lights that hung from the ceiling. We ere careful to stop and wait for a few moments before moving forward when the buzzing noise stopped. "This is stupid," Flare growled.
"It may seem that way now, but there's something more to this place than what you think, Flare," Myst said back. There was little conversation between any of us as we trekked down the halls, falling farther and farther into the maze's traps.
After about an hour or so, we stopped to rest. "You have anything on you for food, Myst?" Ninja asked. Myst nodded and brought out eight small bags. She handed one to each of us, giving me a sad glance when she looked at the last bag that was meant to be for Blue. I miss her too... I miss them all, I thought, opening my bag and finding a small bottle of water, a sandwich, and a stale roll. Not much for dinner, but this is better than anything.
"What do we do tonight when the lights go off?" Esmerelda asked, lifting the bottom of her mask up to eat and drink her fill. I turned my gaze to Ninja, asking quietly for the answer.
"What do we have that we can burn?" Ninja said finally. "Anything we can, we will. Maybe the bags will work." The other nodded and ate quickly.
"Save your water, don't drink it all now," I advised, "who know's how long we're going to be down here." The others nodded and drank only part of their water. I sighed and was ready to fall asleep. Flare and Ninja prepared a small fire as the noises of buzzing and pounding died away with the light. Thank God that Flare had gotten the fire up and going.
Everyone settled down around the orange flames and soon, were fast asleep, curled into balls or lying next to each other. I leaned my back against a wall and was ready to go into a much needed sleep.

- The Next Morning -

Buzzing echoed from the darkness of my dream and bright light flooded the darkness and opened my eyes to see the lights overhead, blinking and finally staring down at us. "Everyone up!" Ninja's voice sounded above the buzzing and pounding. I sat up rubbed my eyes, trying to get past the brightness. "Come on, guys! We have to get moving!" I stood up and looked over to see Reaper standing over a pile of purple flowers... Oh, no... Myst!! I ran over, staring at the pile of sweet smelling lilacs. "When did this happen?" I asked, franticly. Reaper shrugged.
"Must have happened last night," he said.
"By who?"
"No one woke up. No one saw but Myst... And since she could read minds, how come she died?" he asked, searching the ceiling for answers.
"We can't stay here. If the enemy knows where we are, we need to move. We need to find the headquarters of the maze," Ninja ordered sharply. I glanced up at him, seeing a fire burn in his midnight blue eyes.
"This should be the last person I see die under my command." I stared after him as we trekked onwards, leaving the lilacs behind.

"Look, over there!" Poking out my head from the corner, a bluish white light filtered it's way through the darkness from a window in a dead ended wall. We stared at the blue light, seeing shadows move in front of it, clattering noises bang against metal, and muffled voices yelling and saying things I couldn't make out. I strained my ears to hear who was saying what, or if the person was male or female, or even if the voices were human, but nothing was heard above the banging of metal on metal.
"Let's go tell the others," Ninja advised quietly. I shook my head, looking up at him.
"No! We need to investigate," I whispered back, ready to go into trouble. But I was caught by the scarf before dashing in to investigate. At first I was a little surprised, but then I felt like a dog on a leash.
"Come on, Ninja! Let's just go see what the fuss is about," I pleaded.
"Going to see is my code-word for 'get-into-trouble'. We're going back," he said. I rolled my eyes and nodded, following Ninja's footsteps that echoed in the halls in the darkness. We twisted through the maze, of narrow halls, which had grown small and more elaborate.
But soon we found the white lights that glistened off the concrete floor and showed us shadows of the other Ninja. Reaper sat there, his elbows resting on his knees and staring off into space. Ever since Myst had died, Reaper hadn't been his usual, smart, and techie self. Ninja had guessed that he had feelings for her, but now it was a little too later for him to tell her.
"What did you find?" Esmerelda spoke, her green eyes sparkling with hope. Ninja shook his head.
"Couldn't hear anything, couldn't see much. But one things for sure that there is no sign of Blue, Sakira, or Myst in there," he said. I felt a stab of hurt flourish to my heart when he didn't mention Kai. But I had to live with the conclusion that he was dead and gone. He wasn't one of us and he really only helped me for at least a week or two. Why did I feel so deeply about him if I had only known him for a few days?
Because you trusted him, Y/N! I thought angrily to myself. "So what are we going to do? Up until now, we always had a plan for what we were doing, how we were going to take down the enemy. But they have everything under control here in the maze. If they wanted, they could have killed us by now," Reaper said, standing and breaking my thoughts.
"But they haven't. Don't you now why?" Ninja shot back. "Because they want to scare us, make us run away like startled animals. We need to keep our feet planted firmly to the ground and show no fear." I blinked in admiration at Ninja's strong words. The shadows behind us felt cold as we emerged even farther into the light.
"Are the lights just out, or are they just shut off from the enemy?" Reaper asked, changing subject fast. Ninja shrugged, going along with his plan to just change the whole conversation.
"Not sure. If only Myst was still alive-"
"Wait! That's it!" Carissa squealed fearfully. "It's strategy. They're picking off the ones who have the most helpful powers in our group! Sakira was chosen first because of her healing powers, Blue was killed because of her destruction lights, and Myst could have read the minds of the villain if she was still here!"
"Oh, very smart, aren't we?" A sharp and cold voice sounded from the shadows. Ninja and I whirled around and I was caught in a frozen stance, my heart pounding with fear and anger. This was it! This was the enemy we had been chasing this entire time!
"Show yourself," Ninja commanded, standing tall and ready to fight, but looking as neutral and calm as possible. If we showed aggression to this person, we could all be done for here and now!
"What's the fun in that?" The voice was female. "I have a plan for all of you, and if you don't comply with my games, then we're going to have some problems. Now, be good little children and-"
"We're not going to follow you anywhere!" Flare's shout echoed. Her eyes were narrowed and her hands were starting to glow red and orange.
"Fire element, you're coming with me," the Unknown said calmly. The walls and floors vibrated and I collapsed, to the ground, feeling my head rattle and screams of fear ring in my ears. Then, the vibrating stopped and we were in the dark.
"Flare! Flare, are you there?" Ninja's voice called.
No response.
"N-N-Ninja..?" I shuddered out and crawled forward, trying to find objects in the dark with my hands.
"Over here, Snowy," he said. The nickname stung as I thought of Blue waiting for me and not Ninja. Soon I found him and we were alone together.
"What's going on? Do you know where everyone else went?" I asked, holding Ninja's hand.
"No, I don't. Reaper! Esmerelda! Are you there?"
There was a freezing silence that clasped my heart coldly and taunted me with the fear of losing more people.
"Here, Ninja!" coughed a voice. Reaper! Thank God! Two aqua blue lights turned on and showed the mountains of rock that had crumbled from the ceiling and the walls.
"Back here!" Carissa shouted behind us, rocks crumbling as she started towards us.
"Here," Esmerelda said behind the blue lights. As the lights moved closer, Ninja's grip tightened. I heard Reaper swear before joining us. The two blue lights were coming from his eyes.
"Nice touch, Reap," Ninja said, loosening his grip.
"It helps when the lights go out. Who was that? Was that the enemy?" Reaper asked.
"I bet it was! She was cold, I could feel it in my veins," Carissa said sharply, coming to stand next to Ninja.

The night was cold. The rocks were like frosted ice blocks as we curled up next to each other for some warmth. Ninja's fingers shivered next to me. I rolled over and, in the darkness, I could see his red stripes twitched and his breathe was shuddering in the cold.
The white wisps of his breath were sliver in the darkness. I shivered myself, but I slung my arm over Ninja's back. The electrifying cold was shocking, but I pulled myself closer to him. He wasn't awake, as far as I could tell. I laid there, staring at him. Was this the last time I would feel love for another superhero? I did care about Carissa, Reaper, and Esmerelda. But... I just... I felt a strong connection with Ninja, almost like I had loved him forever.
Was I going to live long enough to tell him I loved him? Or... was I just going to have to push my feelings away? What about Randy? I wondered. Another stab of painful cold sparked in my arm and made me shiver even more violently.
"Shhhh... It's going to be... ok," Ninja whispered in his sleep. Before I knew it, I was being held by Ninja. Did this have to happen every time we rested from a battle? But tonight was different than most. My heart hurt with the pain from the cold and from emotional pain. I cried quietly in the night, my breathes coming in short gasps. I missed the way things used to be. When we were together, all of us. Sakira... Blue... Kai... Myst... I'm so sorry! It's my fault you all died! Please forgive me..., I pleaded quietly. I could just imagine what Blue would say.
"Buck up, Snowy!"
"Snowbird...?" I opened my eyes and saw Ninja staring at me. "You o-o-ok?"
"Yeah, f-fine," I whispered, trying to stop crying. They seemed to freeze to my skin in the cold. But Ninja wiped them away quietly and held me closer. His heartbeat was steady and strong. Comforting. In his arms, I felt safe, I felt like nothing could hurt me. It was all I had ever wanted. And quietly, slowly, I drifted into sleep. A peaceful, soothing, and quiet sleep.

- The Next Morning-

"Snowbird!" My name echoed in my ears as my eyes, heavy with sleep, blinked open. Bright light flooded through my eyelashes and I could just make out the image of someone staring at me. Her eyes were pink and her voice was kind. I blinked again.
"Sa... Sakira...? Am I...? Am I dead?" I whispered reaching out my hand. But no one was there.
"Snowbird! Wake up!!" The voice turned from Sakira's soft tone to another girl's voice. I pushed myself up slowly and rubbed my eyes. When I opened them, I saw that around me were long, black metal bars. I stood up, my blood feeling icy and cold. I gripped the bars and pulled at them, trying to break free. But nothing would budge.
"Gooooooood morning!" a voice called down to us. The top of the cage was pure black metal and I couldn't see who was calling.
"Snowbird, over here!" I glanced over and saw Esmerelda standing in her cage. Her green eyes were fearful and looked like she was about to cry. Footsteps echoed around the room and down some stairs came someone I had seen before.
"White Demon...," I whispered after a gasp.
"Was this too unpredictable, for you, Snowbird? I thought you were always the smart one," she said. She was in her 'normal' attire, white cape, light gray robe over a silvery shirt underneath, and her leggings were dark gray, making it look dramatic. The white cape hood drifted over her eyes and hair, only allowing us to see her sharp toothed smile.
I snorted furiously. "What have you done with Flare?" I asked, glaring at her past the bars. My ears burned with the hatred I felt for her soul. But I was still a little fearful of her. The dramatic way she strode forward to my cage, the way her teeth glittered with with her pale skin. It was almost disgusting.
"Wouldn't you like to know," she hissed at me. I reached my hand through the bars and grabbed for her. But she moved back with a cocky smirk on her lips. Her laugh was like thunder in a dark storm without lightning; strange and spine chilling.
"Where is she?" I asked again. The White Demon thought for a moment, her smile twisting into a cruel grin.
"Very well. Aspen!" The name stopped my heart for one second before a boy about my hight with fiery orange hair came down the stairs. I glared at him with even more hatred than for the White Demon.
"I'm sure you two have already met?" White Demon asked, glancing between us. Aspen nodded and grinned slyly. He stepped closer to me, his dark blue eyes shining.
"Hello, beautiful. Miss me?" He asked, raising my chin to look at him with his pointer finger. I glared at him and attempted biting him, but realized that my mask covered my mouth. Damn thing..., I thought. My blood boiled as he chuckled at my efforts.
"Hardly!" I snapped, making up for my unaccomplished mission.
"Oh, well. In time, you will learn to love what you see, baby," he said, turning away and shrugging.
"Aspen, the others, please," The White Demon asked, her grin fallen. Aspen nodded and walked through another door that was hidden in the charcoal gray shadows.
"You have no need to see Flare at the moment," The White Demon said. I wish I had Blue with me. She could bust us out of here real quick!
"But who you should be worried about is your other friends." And just after she had said that, Aspen walked in with a cart. On it was another cage, but it was covered with a sheet, hiding who or whatever was in the cage.
Aspen unveiled the cage, revealing Carissa. Her suit had been torn and scratched with blood. "Carissa!" I said, kneeling down and staring through the black bars of my cage. Her eyes were closed, but were wet from crying. She was breathing... at least that was good. She looked dead if you didn't focus on the rising and falling of her side. I glanced back up at The White Demon.
"Your turn is coming, Snowbird," she said, bending down to stare me in the eye, even though she kept her eyes sealed away from the world. What did you do to her...? Where's everyone else!? I thought. The world was growing darker and darker by the minute. I could hear from behind the door that Aspen went through screams and yelling. I sat at the end of my cage, closing my eyes and trying to calm down. It'll be ok... It'll ok..., I thought over and over.
The only thing that I could think of was where Ninja was. Was he ok? Was he dead? At least that's one less body I have to see.

Randy's POV:

The room was dark. Or maybe I just had my eyes closed. I couldn't tell. (A/n: Lol.) The ground was cold. Was I still in that cave place? No... This was a different kind of cold. My arms were boiling hot, and I could feel blood clinging to my arms, dried and fresh. I opened my eyes and rolled it over on it's side, staring at my arms in the dark.
Fresh scratches lined my arms. "What happened to me...?" I whispered to myself.
"Good morning, Princess," a voice hissed in the dark, light flooding the darkness. I squinted my eyes, trying to adjust to the light.
"Who- who's there?" I stuttered, trying to sit up. My arms hurt from the scratches and my muscles burned.
"Aspen, Ninj. Now, get up. We have play time," he said, squatting down beside me, outside my cage.
"I can't... I can't get up," I said, struggling to even try.
"Get up. I will not hesitate to use force on you, my friend. You should know that by now," he hissed. My tried harder, pushing myself up slowly to a sitting position. I panted with effort, and my eyes growing heavy with tears from the pain.
"Come on! We won't wait forever," Aspen barked, hitting the cage. The clang rang in my ears and I nearly burst into tears.
"Mercy! Mercy!" I sobbed, covering my ears.
"Mercy doesn't work here, Hero," he said, opening the cage.
I stared at his tall figure. His chest, covered by a black leather coat that came down to his calves, looked strong. His legs were covered by some tight fitting pants that showed his muscles.
"You know, I kissed your beautiful little Snowbird back there... Obviously you wouldn't mind me doing it again, since you're all weak and-"
I stood up, anger driving up to stand.
"Now there's the fabled hero I imagined! Radiant. Glorious, some say! Brave and cunning. Seems like your legend has lost its touch, Ninja," Aspen gushed sharply. A chuckle followed his comment.
He took out a rope he held behind his back and he wrapped it around my neck. Tugging me along, we walked into the light, my red blood suddenly becoming visible.

Y/N's POV:

"Take her," White Demon waved her hand at Esmerelda, who quietly cried in her cage.
"Be strong!" I whispered to her before another boy took her cage away. His dark brown hair was frosted with dust and his hands were sharply scarred from what seemed like years of work.
"No! No, wait! I don't want to leave!" Esmerelda shouted, kicking at the bars fiercely. The clawed at the lock that held the cage door together. Then she went after the boy. Her hands reached for his face, his arms, trying to stop him. But all of her attempts failed.
"Aspen, where is he?" White Demon snapped to herself.
"Missing your pet?" I asked sharply.
"It would do you some good to keep quiet," she shot back coldly. Almost like my insult meant nothing. I glared harder at her, trying to be brave.
"Where is he?" I ventured after moments of silence.
"Who?" White Demon asked back.
"Where's Ninja?" I blinked angrily at her. She stood with her back to me, but I knew all too well that she was smirking.
"You want to see? Just take a look at her," she said, turning towards me and pointing to Carissa. "He's probably with Aspen."
"What are you doing to him? To us?"
"That would give away the whole plot now wouldn't it?"
"Stop with the riddles, the smart comments! All of it! I'm done being left in the dark of your petty little questions, your hidden clues! Just tell me!!" I shouted at her, feeling my rage boil and melt away the hurt I felt.
We stared at each other, one wearing an evil smile. The other an angered glare that could burn anyone.
"You will know when the time comes, Snowy. But for now, your questions will have to wait."
I sat there, sighing at being alone. I wanted out of here. Well, who wouldn't? Being caged and held against your will by someone you don't know? Yeah, I guess no one would want to be that way. Esmerelda's screams echoed into the room from behind the door. I knew that I would go mad listening to her or anyone else scream and yell.
I covered my ears and laid on my side, trying to block out the sounds. And now I finally realized that I was hungry. But I didn't want to get up. I needed to stay here. Alone. And think of a way to get out of here, even if it killed me.
"She's ready, Miss," a boy's voice said outside my muffled hearing. My eyes opened half way, staring at the bars again. The White Demon nodded and said something quietly to the boy, pointing at my cage then to the door. I didn't uncover my ears. I just laid there. Then I shut my eyes again. My cage jerked forwards and the sound of rolling wheels scraped my eardrums as we rolled along. I let my hand fall off my face and onto the metal bottom of the cage.
"I'm sorry," the boy whispered behind me. I rolled my head up to look at him. His dark hair was short, his eyes were the color of ice blue, and his face was sad and regretful. "I'll come back for you." The words were comforting for now.
"Thank you," I whispered back. We were in the dark for a bit before a door opened and we were in a large, dimly lit room. Huge, flat screened TV's sat on the walls in front of me with a control panel that glittered with red, blue, white, and green buttons. Keyboards were stretched all around the base of the panel. Small boys and girls typed and stared at smaller screens below that part, working franticly. I could feel their fear like a heavy fog that was dense in the room.
The boy who was pushing my cage pushed me up on the balcony, in front of the TV's. "My name's Ronan," he whispered, unlatching the cage. I stared at him in surprise. Was he letting me free. The small bit of freedom was lived short by a shackle that was chained to the floor. He clamped it on my leg and I could see the regret in his eyes again.
I crawled out of the cage and into the light of the TV's that were a blue off-white. Their glow reminded me of a bright, white clouded dawn in winter. I sighed and stood there, staring down at the boys and girls that typed on the boards. One girl glanced up at me quickly, her dark brown eyes sad and pleading for help. What was she thinking I could do? Did she see me as the hero some did? Or was she pitying me?
"Snowbird..!" I turned my head to see a black figure with a red scarf and stripes in the suite.
"Ninja!" My heart leapt as I ran forward, only to be tripped up by the chain. I reached out for Ninja, my hands shaking with the effort.
Ronan nodded to Aspen and he let go of the rope that was slung around Ninja's neck. The hero limped forward, scratches and blood running along his arms and legs and chest. Even though he looked rough, his eyes still looked strong and miraculous.
"Are you hurt?" he rasped, turning his head to cough before looking back to me.
"No, no. Are you ok? You look like you've been through a garbage disposal!" I ran my fingers along his arm, trying not to be rough on his scrapes and scratches. He winced a little but I could see he was trying to be brave.
"Ok, you two," Aspen growled behind us. We departed and sat down on the cold floor. "Her majesty is coming to put on a show for you." His sharp white grin made my head hurt and feel dizzy. I closed my eyes and leaned against a wall and fell asleep, hungry and thirsty.

"Snowbird...," a voice echoed from my dark dream. "Snooooooowwwbirrrrrddd..." My vision was blurry when I opened my eyes. I woke up in the same room I was in when I fell asleep. But my throat wasn't dry and my stomach didn't burn from the constant hunger.
But my head hurt like someone was stepping on it. "Ouch...," I groaned, holding my head with my hands. "What happened..?"
"You blacked out from hunger," Ninja's voice answered, still a little echoey.
"Ok. What's going on?" I asked. My head, although feeling heavy from a headache, felt like it was spinning.
"You ok?" Ninja asked, touching my shoulder. His gentle touch seemed to sooth the aching of my muscles and take some weight off my headache, but not killing it completely.
"Yeah. Just a headache," I said, opening my eyes. Standing before us was White Demon. I glared up at her.
"What?" I demanded.
"Hmm? Oh, you're awake! Good, good," she purred, clapping her hands together. She nodded to a small girl, who raced out of the room. A few short moments later, she was back with a dark gray remote that held many different colored buttons on it.
"I would suggest you look at the TV's," she said sharply, pointing the remote at them and pressing a red button. The sound of flames echoed in the room from the TV speakers. I turned my head and saw Flare's orange scarf. I jumped up to my feet shakily, but didn't take my eyes off of Flare. My eyes widened as I saw that she was in a room only big enough to  hold her.
"LET ME OUT!" she shouted, sending crackling flames at the walls. "I AM FINISHED PLAYING!!!" A storm of orange and white flashed over the TV before cooling to Flare's image again. Hang in there, Flare! I thought desperately. I clung to the railing that stood in front of me. I swallowed and stared at her. Ninja stood beside me, the same expression in his eyes.
Another button was pushed behind us. It was as loud as a pen dropping to the floor in a quiet room. Calick.
My eyes widened even more when the floor beneath Flare started breaking in two. Under it, a pool of icy water shimmered and shone. It seemed to reach for Flare's feet as the floor opened wider and wider. Flare's narrowed and angered eyes had turned to white from the frustration. But now they were back to normal and full of panic.
"SNOWBIRD!!" she cried out. I took in a sharp breathe as she called my name. I started shaking, feeling the railing under my hands rattle and hear the metal beat against the concrete floor under my feet. My breathing became impatient and I felt my whole body go numb.
"SNOWBIRD! HELP! I NEED HELP!" she screamed again. The floors were opening wider and wider by the second, giving Flare less and less time to look for a way out. My arms trembled harder and my teeth gritted against each other as I blinked angrily at the situation.
"Let her go." I demanded. "Damn it, I said let her go!" I screamed, looking back at White Demon. She smiled with her lips. I swallowed again and clamped onto the railing even harder.
"HELLLLLPPPP!" I stared back at the TV and I could feel the metal under my hands start to bend under my pressure. Then there was a splash. I stared at the image of my friend disappearing into the abyss of the cold water. Then floating up to the surface were orange Tiger Lily's. They were the same color of Flare's scarf. I slammed my hands against the railing, screaming with anger.
I whipped around to face White Demon. I looked down at the chain that held my foot to the floor and took ahold of it and broke it in two. My rage was hot and radiated off my skin as I dove for her. That is the last straw! You won't kill anyone else, you hear!? I silently screamed in my mind. I was finished being forced to watch my friends die. White Demon didn't fight back but ordered some children to throw out ropes and chains to catch me before I could reach her.
"How dare you... You will be severely punished for that, mutt," she said as the last of the ropes and chains held me to the floor. I growled at her and struggled to stand up from the trap. Then everything went black. Everything went silent. I was alone in the darkness.

Thank you to TheLlamacorn05 for including your OC, Flare/Ruby, into my story.
