Chapter 15: Isolation (Part 3)

Y/N's POV:

Smoke. Fire. Screams. There it went. All of it. Down in flames. I couldn't feel my arms anymore. My lungs burned from the smoke, the embers that flew into the air came at me and burned my skin like the heat from the streams of orange and red. I needed to get out of here! But... There was no way out. Since I had sacrificed myself for my friends... for Randy.
"Y/N!! Wait!!!!!" Randy's echoing voice called over the flames.
"Sorry... I love you," I said, pulling the lever and closing the doors. I knew I was going to die, or I was going to live with the scars. I leaned against a wall, and slid down the wall. I curled up in a ball, hugging my knees. I slid the mask off. If I was gonna die, I was gonna die as Y/N. My vision was blurring from the tears. It started to get darker and darker, either from the smoke or from my dying heartbeat. I couldn't stand for this anymore.
"Please, have mercy on me," I whispered and coughed. Then I closed my eyes before hearing a crash, feeling pieces of wall spatter down on on me, and an echoing, cry, "Y/N!!" And I was gone, in the arms of a stranger...

- Flash Back Moment -

"Come on! This way. We're here to free you," Blue said. I stood there, in the dream I was having of the past. I saw myself, kneeling over the girl that had been hit. Esmerelda... I said, my voice echoing. I saw myself pick her up and carry her out into the loading bay. "This way!" Reaper yelled, sprinting down the halls. Myst and Flare flanked the sides of the children leading them to safety.
We twisted around the corner and found a wall of guards in plastic looking armor. "Flare! Now!" Blue yelled, letting Flare come to the front of the herd. I watched Flare leap into the air and twist around, kicking out a ball of fire. It landed right in the middle of the warriors. "Hey, guys!" I turned my head, remembering the voice of Sakira, Child of Healing. She raced forward, her black suite striped with pink. "Esmerelda. Is she ok?" I watched as I laid Esmerelda down. There was a bloody spot on her head where the gun had hit her. I remember her not breathing.
Sakira laid out a hand on the wound and swirls of white circled around the victim. She sat up slowly and opened her emerald green eyes. "Sakira? Snowbird? Where's Randy?" she asked. At that moment, I felt my heart skip a beat. I wanted to find him. I needed to!
At that moment, I looked up and saw Randy's purple hair and blue eyes. I wanted to cry. I stood up and went in to hug him. He stared at me. I was only 2 feet away when I noticed for a split second that his eyes were cold, unforgiving. And within 5 seconds, I was on my back with Randy's hands wrapped around my neck and placing pressure in the middle of my throat. I stared up at him, gasping for breathe. "Monster..." he whispered, his eyes wild. "MONSTER!!!"
"Hey!" Blue yelled. I was sure she wasn't going to get there in time, but suddenly, I felt the preasure glide off my throat and I felt air flow into my lungs. I sat up and saw with sheer horror that Randy was kicking, screaming, and lashing out as Blue tried to get him away. "You ok?" Sakira asked, coming to kneel beside me. I nodded and got to my feet. I blinked and returned to where I was when it happened. Flare turned into a pillar of fire, raging towards the leader who was dressed in white. The villain betrayed the color of hope and success to rotting and evil. "Flare! She's alright! She's ok!" Blue was unconscious on the floor, but Sakira was there and had healed her. But it was too late. The towers were puffing out smoke and the walls were scratching at the walls as Flare fueled the fire to grow and grow and grow.
"Get them out of here," I said to Sakira. She nodded without question and lead the group out of the building.
"Y/N?" Randy asked. The look of anger disappeared for a moment before falling back into place.
"Wait...! Wait, stop!" I yelled, trying to find a way to stop me from making that decision. "I'll be right behind you. I promise." I said. I looked back and saw that Flare had burned herself out, but she kept fighting against the white figure. "Flare!" I yelled.
Flare turned to me and nodded, running and jumping over the flames. She ran up to Randy and met my eyes as we started running down the halls. The halls were getting warmer and warmer. I started to slow down, coming to a stop. "Go ahead!" I yelled. Flare nodded and kept running.
"Monster!" Randy turned around and slammed his hands on my shoulders and pushed me back into the burning halls. Then he started running towards me. I backed away and let Sakira grab him and pull him down the hall. "I know what I need to do. I'll slow the fire!" I said.
"Hope you know what you're doing," Blue said. I nodded.
"Y/N?" Randy yelled, tears streaming down his face with realization.
"Sorry..." The echoes of building walls falling, the fires crackling and bursting into sparks seised. I closed my eyes, not wanting to see that I was going to die. But when I opened my eyes, Shira was there. I stared at her. There was no noise.
"White Ninja," she said, holding out her arms. I ran to her and accepted the hug. "Many challenges you have faced. But you are safe now. You are safe..."
"But... I feel alone. And Randy... he-"
"You are not alone. Your friends are here. Randy just needs time... He'll heal. Just open you mind."
"But... I can't... I'm still scared."
"Yes, you can." I looked up at Shira and saw that she knew what she was talking about. We sat across from each other, in meditating position. Then, I woke up.
The light was blinding me, but I could see and hear things. People. My heartbeat. And then I saw shadows.
