Chapter 9: Dreamers and Sleepers
(Your POV)
Finally! School is out for winter break. The snow outside falls and drifts down from the cloudy sky. Me and Howard and Randy are in our winter gear and having a snowball fight.
You throw a snowball at Randy's face and he falls backwards white flakes glittering on his face as he laughs. White puffs of air accumulate from his mouth. You laugh too. "Raaaaannnndy! I shall avenge you!" Howard yells. He diggs out a pile of snow and comes running towards you. You laugh and start walking backwards.
"Oh, come on, Howard! You wouldn't attack me with that huge thing of- WOAH!" You fall over, on your back. Howard laughs evilly and heaves the snow pile up and over his head. You hear a gasp and a long, drawn out "Nooooooo!" Your eyes are locked with Howard's, but then he's swiped away and the snow pile is flung away from you guys.
You look up and see that Randy had tackled Howard. Now their tussling and withering in the snow. You sit there for a moment. For some reason, you think of Randy as the Ninja. Don't be crazy, Y/N. you think.
But then Howard has Randy by the back of his head and he stuffs his head into the snow. Randy squirms and wriggles for Howard's arms. You snicker a little. And when he came up, his face was red and white, and his mouth was full of snow. You just can't take it anymore. You burst out laughing, tears rolling down your face.
"Your welcome, shoob," Randy says. He isn't smiling or laughing. You get up in your feet and look at him.
"Randy, what's wrong?" You ask. You blink, and he suddenly has a snowball and he sends it flying at your face. And you get hit. With tremendous force, you fly away from them and into the snow pile Howard had dropped.
"Ouch! I think I hit some ice," You say, looking back at the pile. But then... You see something in the snow pile. Well, actually something behind it. As you pull it out, you see a gold plated 6 fingers on the front cover. And the number 4 on it.
Randy and Howard walk over to you and see the book in your hand. All of you stand there, just looking at it. Then, you standup up and start walking over to the front part of Randy's house. You sit down to get a better look at it. "What the juice, Y/N? Just open the honking thing already!" Howard says. You open the book slowly to find pages and pages of things you wouldn't believe we're real. But then you see a signature.
"Dipper Pines? What the heck is Dipper Pines?" You ask. Randy and Howard shrug. You look closer at the pages. You flip through he book some more and find empty pages. But in the very back you find a picture of a brown haired boy and what looks to be his twin sister. He's wearing a blue and white cap with a pine tree on it.

(Randy's POV)
I stare at the book some more. It's been hours and hours since we found it. We all decided to have a sleep over at my place. It's around 12:34 am. Howard is like cashed out. And Y/N is just sitting on her computer, looking up the things in the book. But I can tell that she's really tired. But knowing her, she will be determined to find out what this journal is and who wrote it.
"Hey, Y/N?" I say. She looks up at me, her eyes tired. "How about we get some rest and then we'll get the case solved tomorrow." Instantly, she shuts her computer screen down and closes her eyes, head on a pillow. I chuckle at this.
I do the same. And I drift deeply into sleep. I do the same. And I drift deeply into sleep. Suddenly, I'm in a pine forest. I'm with Y/N and two other kids. I don't know who they are, but suddenly, I seem to have a huge head ache. I groan in pain. One of the two kids has the book in his hands. "Here. We're going to enter your mind to get rid of the demon," he says, reading the words from the page.
"What the juice? Demon?" I say to him. But he doesn't listen or answer my questions. Y/N has tears streaming down her face. "What's wrong with here?" Before the boy can answer, the scenery turns black and white. But I see something yellow out in the distance. Wake up... Wake up, wake up, wake up!!! My eyes flash open. I'm in a cold sweat, but I'm with Y/N. I look over at her and she's on her computer again. "Bad dream?" She asks. I nod and rub my head. "Yeah, I knew you were. You were kicking and groaning words in your sleep. I had a terrible one too." I crawl up to her and read the words on her computer screen.
"Dipper Pines is a 12 year old boy who lives in Gravity Falls, Oregon. He and his twin sister, Mabel Pines, are exploring the extent mysteries of this town with their Great Uncle Stanley and Uncle Stanford." I blink at the computer. Then I look back at my protector. I feel a small twinge that she's only got her mind on this.
-------------------------------------------------
(Your POV)
You can't stop thinking about this. The book, the twins, Gravity Falls. It's like a kids show you just can't stop watching or stop thinking about. You read deeper into the research. "Recently, Stanford Pines claims to have been lost in another dimension for 30 years. He also claims to have seen the world after our time. The time of our children becoming adults."
Randy keeps reading with you. Every now and then, he looks back at you. But when he looks at me with his deep blue eyes, You can't help but think back to your dream. Yes, Randy was in your dream. But his eyes were... strange looking. They were yellow and his pupils were black and long rectangles.
This scared you half to death. Then you woke up. Now, you're search the Internet for two things. The first thing is Dipper Pines. You've already gotten that down. But the second thing is something that Randy said to you in your dream.
"The difference between Dreamers and Sleepers are that one can see, and the other is blind."
