so I decided to make a God AU for Pokemon(Inspired by various Mythologies especially Greek and kinda also inspired by the book series Percy Jackson) simply where every Gym Leader, Villain Team, Elite Four, Champion, etc. are Gods, Goddesses, Demi-Gods, etc., here, actual animals exist, Pokemon exist too as direct creations of the Gods(although I'm still debating with myself about the existence of animals...). Each Region has their own sets of Gods and the each set of Gods only tend to their Region. I decided to start with Unova cuz that is the only region I know enough about to properly turn it into this AU(don't ask how). btw each region in this AU will be slightly different from the original, with added and removed locations for the purpose.. of... you know... stuff

yeah heres some of my ideas so far(feel free to add more cuz thinking is hard)

-Elesa is the Unovan Beauty goddess as well as entertainment, however I'm still working on how I can translate her flashy Electric gym leader role into a godly aspect, she can't be a Goddess of storms since it's not her type of Electricity

-Burgh is the Unovan Wild god, protector of bugs and animals(mostly bugs though), he's also a God of art and painting and is the creator of most Unovan insect Pokemon(I said insect not bug, this is important)

-Cilan, Chili, and Cress are the Unovan Trio gods of.... huh... still not sure.... anyway, they're also partly agricultural gods(cuz their names from the translations of the games are either based off herbs, nuts, grains, or corn.... also cuz planting, watering, harvesting, and for some crops, burning. also I have this little idea that they also represent Fertility or a proper Nature cycle, but I kinda want to work on it and hear your thoughts), each control a certain aspect of nature(which are obviously plant life, water and fire). as with most sibling Gods, they share their power between each other. now individual aspects. 

-Cilan is the Unovan Herb god, as well as spices and general plant life, he is also a god of cuisine. 

-Chili is the Unovan Hothead god and tends to reside in a volcano in northeast Unova(yeah I know there aren't any volcanoes in Unova, but it says in Lentimas Town's description that they make pottery out of volcanic clay so there had to be a volcano somewhere, sadly I couldn't fine one and maybe you can help but for now I added it since there's barely any fire-based locations in Unova), he likes to challenge daredevils who come into his territory, and if he deems them strong enough, he offers them a deadly challenge(yeah this guy piled up alot of burned corpses over the millennia, don't worry, this is a common trait of Fire gods.... wait), apparently, along with his brother Cress, he's also a god of hot springs. 

-Cress is the Unovan Rain god, he is mainly the God of the two rivers that divides Unova, but he is also in charge of any body of water that's not the Sea or Caves(that's Marlon's job), his right eye is damaged and is constantly leaking water(not tears, this water ain't salty)

-Marlon is the Unovan Fishing god, the God of the Unovan seas and the ocean boundaries that separates Unova from other regions, also as his (unofficial)title says, he's also a God of fishing

-Ingo and Emmet are the Unovan Twin gods of Railways and Transport, they're two of the newest gods of the Unovan Pantheon, earning their Godhood through strength. before becoming Transport Gods, they were simply Travel Gods who protected roads and travelers, but they helped in making some of the early versions of various modern vehicles, the first of which was the train(which was first invented in Unova btw), they took interest on them and focused on them ever since(talk about favoritism). Even if they don't have as much power as the other Gods, since they're Transport gods and a few other reasons, their range extends to other regions, but are still considered Unovan Gods(for obvious reasons). some consider them as Combat Gods, with Emmet being the somewhat fun and non-fatal type and Ingo being the serious brutal type, but despite them being strong, they're generally not specialized in Combat. as with most sibling Gods, they share their power between each other. now individual aspects(finally, this took too long).

-Ingo is a protector of the abandoned(yeah know, subway tunnels, roads, etc.) and is the creator of the Litwick line

-Emmet is still in the works, although the main idea is that he is somewhat opposite to his brother. btw the reason why they have little individual aspects is because... well... it's obvious, them being identical twins and mainly the fact they achieved Godhood together and at the same time.(also, little fun fact, these two are one of very few Gods who achieved Godhood without going through the Demi-God phase first), he's the creator of the Joltik line

-Iris is the Demi-Goddess princess of The Dragon Force, she rules alongside Drayden(who was the one who made her a Demi-Goddess in the first place) as an apprentice of sorts. I wanna take a break from talking about Iris for a bit and talk about Dragon Gods. As we all know, dragons don't exist, only Dragon Pokemon, so potential and stuff for Dragon Gods are pretty limited, but then I remembered the Dragon Force, yeah yeah, it's probably just named after these giant lizards and probably have nothing to do with them, but you should realize that the first and only time we see the Dragon Force was in the 14th Pokemon movie, set in the Unova Region, who's three main Legendaries are Dragons, well look at that. I imagine that in this AU, the Dragon Force appeared in all regions but it was the early citizens of Unova that first named it and learn how to control it for their benefit, mainly farming, but then again, we already have the Striaton Brothers, so this headcanon needs work, anyway, I do imagine that the early citizens of Unova had help, you'd be right if you guessed Drayden, yes, but the main helpers were the two unnamed brothers, the first leaders/chiefs of the Unovan Pantheon(more info on them later), anyway, Dragon Gods, who used to be protectors of beasts, became protectors of this force after the war(more on that later). okay, back to Iris(f<3cking finally). the thing about Iris is... is that she died... don't worry! Don't worry! she died mortal! wait that doesn't make it better. um... basically in her past life, Iris was kind and pure hearted orphan(cuz every protagonist needs to be one) living near a small village similar to the Village of Dragons... except this village hated dragons.... actually the whole world did during this time... t'was a bad time to be a Dragon Pokemon during this time(and a stressful one for the Dragon Gods)...anywho Iris, who was pretty young btw, shown to be the only person kind to dragons in her village, no no no scratch that, the entire region, she was able to befriend them and was never phased by them despite how young she was. This, of course, catches the attention of the Gods, especially Drayden who's been having a stressful few decades over the fact his creations were getting slaughtered(Geez dude your not the only one who's creations are being massacred, calm down). So they bless her, allowing her to further strengthen bonds with her fellow dragons and even convincing the townsfolk of the village see that dragons aren't always blood and carnage(I'm looking at you, Hydreigon). Years pass and by now around half of Unova's population accepted dragon, or at least as much as they can, life was great... but not for long... well you already know how this is gonna go, cuz at the age of 11 or 12... Iris... well... *makes the finger to neck gesture*... I'm pretty sure it involved an assassin, details are pretty fuzzy since 1,900 year old records don't really hold too well... *squints eyes while reading an extremely dusty scroll*... okay soon after Dayden took pity on her poofed the probably traumatized Iris into heaven and made her an immortal Demi-Goddess... okay sort of immortal she can die of age but that'll take a thousands of years, lots of time to become full Goddess.[And five seconds after Danie typed in those words she realizes it sounds too much like Thalia from Percy Jackson or the tale of Eros and Psyche, however, the lazy little piece of crap shrugged and says to herself that she'll change it later], oh yeah btw she created the Axew line

My GOD that was unnecessarily long jesus christ...

-Clay is the Unovan Mine god, pretty simple, caves, mines.... dirt- I mean ores!... yeah.... ores...

-Skyla is the Unovan Jet Goddess, protecting Unova's skies and the aerial borders. Fun Fact, alot of Gods can protect the same thing as they can technically fall under one of their aspects, for example, when a Unovan plane travels through the sky, Skyla protects the sky it's in(technically protecting the plane at the same time), while the twins Ingo and Emmet protect the plane itself. Heck, Unovan swamps are shared by as many as 4 gods(that is Marlon, Cress, Cilan, and Burgh)

-Elite Fours are ranked just below the Chief god, they're kinda like their court or something, Elite Fours are further ranked from weakest to strongest, and if a Chief steps down from their position and doesn't give it to someone else or was defeated in combat, the strongest Elite Four member takes their place

-Chief gods are the heads of a Pantheon, they can earn their title either by defeating the previous one in gladiator style combat or they were given the position directly by the Chief or the Pantheon, or if the Chief steps down from their position with no one to replace them, just like I said before, everyone moves up a rank an the strongest Elite Four member becomes the new chief.

*calls into the distance* are there any more?

*incoherent answer in the distance* fiiiiine

-The two Brothers... the first Chief gods of the Unovan Pantheon and are the gods of Truth and Ideals respectively. remember the war between these two over truth and ideals? yeah it actually happened here too. yeah here's how it happened. several Millennia ago, Unova's Pantheon was the 5th of appear out of the Void, The first of these gods were the Brothers of Truth and Ideals. after the Pantheon was established, they created the first Dragon Pokemon, a great beast with the ability to harness the powers of Nature, with it, the Dragon Force, and later multiple gods, mostly the Dragon Gods, would protect this. a while pass and human civilization was on the Pokeworld's equivalent of Earth's early medieval period, during this, the thoughts of Truth and Ideals that were pondering the brothers' minds finally became too much and told each other about they were thinking, each not agreeing with the other's idea. The problem slowly became worse, from little occasional arguments then meeting interruptions then fist fight then sword fights and it just went on and on, the other gods tried to make them stop(well except the Twins since they just arrived), but soon the Brothers reached the point of no return. They waged war. it was absolute CHAOS, like what Chiron from Percy Jackson said, to imagine nature at war with itself, it was so bad even the other Pantheons, who usually just minded their own business,  got news of what was happening and tried to stop the war but can't really do much about it for obvious reasons. In the process the Great Dragon split in two, Reshiram and Zekrom, with the leftover Kyurem, further adding to the chaos. And just when you think this couldn't get any worse well aren't you wrong! Due to the now split state of the Great Dragon, The Dragon Force begins to become unstable and destructive, even FURTHER adding to the chaos. It was so chaotic the whole world felt it. After the war ended with no winning side, the gods of the other Pantheons were mad beyond anything you can ever imagine, even the Unovan gods were mad since they had nothing to do with this mess and were only roped in(which yeah, they're kinda right). The Brothers were in some deep shit and they knew it, but they were chief gods so the worst punishment the others could give them was to torture them for a few decades... you'd expect them to be kicked out of their role of Chief gods but that pretty hard to do and remember, the other Pantheons can't do much to each other including Unova since its not their right. anyway... something... unexpected happened... a few decades after the Brothers were punished, they vanished, no one knew where they went, not even the other Pantheons. Alder, moved up rank and became the Unovan Pantheon's new Chief god, with Shauntal becoming the new Elite Four member. oh and btw about the Dragon Force, they finally found a way to calm it down, and Unova, don't worry, it only took all of Cilan's energy to revitalize the land. Even through the centuries the memories of the Brothers stood strong, but they weren't praised, they were hated, all across the world, and it was probably why everyone used to hate Dragons, of course in the modern  age no one's that salty anymore. just hope they'll find them soon.

okay, okay, sorry, its just been tiring lately... *sigh*

so yeah, your first look into the Pokemon Godverse as I call it, and since I'm publishing this on the day Sword and Shield comes out, by the time you're reading this I've probably already came up with new ideas or changed some in order to fit the new region with it's lore, characters, and mechanics, my mind is just a mess

also I want to give a shout out to SkylarWrites4Life

I posted a small announcement saying how fun but not fun making this thing is, they gave me a small compliment but that kept me from giving up on this thing unlike most other AUs I try to work on

so if you want more please comment or something, give me an idea, support this mess cuz I'm not even done with Unova, I still have 7 more regions which I have NO knowledge about left. Official designs will either be posted on my opinions and stuff book or a new book, but just know I'm making this for your and my enjoyment.
