How To Care For Your Nova (By X)
Welcome to 'How To Care For Your Nova'! I am your host, Xealia (Haha nope biches, I'm actually X), and I bring you here a [LittleTale! Nova]! I hope you enjoy, and remember, IF YOU DON'T LIKE YOUR NOVA THEN GO have some tea with Asgore, I'm sure he's lonely...AND THEN DIE—
Step 1:
Nova likes Attention!
Treat your Nova like if she was the queen of England, but don't make her feel different from others. That will make her stress more. If she ever needs support, just ask what happened calmly and try not to get mad at her. If she tells you, try to solve the problem without getting her involved (unless necessary) cuz' she hates confrontation. If she doesn't, try and ask again. If that doesn't work, then just hug her and remind her that everything will solve itself in the end. Again, don't get mad at what she got upset over, we're all different and need our own space and consolation. You can tell if she needs support if she's staying away from everyone or if she just keeps on saying 'Oof' or nodding after everything you tell her.
Step 2:
Nova is very needy...!
Nova gets very emotional from time to time, and then her emotional-ness makes her very needy. Try to keep as many things she likes with you so you can lend her when she gets like this, and if you don't have it just tell her so. Sometimes she also gets depressive episodes, which require comfort, easy-to-obtain food, and distractions to go away. She always wants someone to talk to, simply because she always feels lonely, needs someone to distract her from herself, and wants to make people smile.
Step 3:
Be honest with your Nova...but not too honest.
White lies are sometimes necessary, but that doesn't give you the right to deliberately trick or lie to your Nova. Just be honest. If she's asking for your opinion and it's a negative one, just tell her what she needs to improve on. Remind her from time to time you are there for her, she always likes that extra support.
Step 4:
Fangirl alert!! Level: Nova!
Nova is a huge fangirl. She often gets extremely moody when she gets into the story, so supply her with pillows, blankets, breakable (and recyclable+easy to pick up) objects, milk and junk food. If she fangirls over something, just keep the train moving. Keep her involved and support her opinion. If you know about it, fangirl with her! You'll be her partner in crime! Otherwise, ask her to explain what she's freaking out over. Don't worry, she always goes into a full (and very detailed) explanation of what it is...
Step 5:
Issues
Nova, as previously mentioned, is depressive. She doesn't like entering into specific conversation topics and will always blame herself for any issues. Don't go against her, that'll just trigger both her anxiety and defensive mode. The defensive mode is when she gets angry and will go against anyone who isn't on her side. Usually, just try to reason with her or go on her side for her to 'calm down'. She's usually really caring and understanding, but she's imperfect and needs help like everyone else. She doesn't like people arguing, and prefers peace over chaos, but she herself can be very destructive and violent when it comes down to it. Another of her many issues, she's never satisfied with herself. Even when she's in a good mood, anything she makes or does has to be perfect, otherwise she either has to redo it or give up and get sad. When it comes down to it, tell her all the good things about what she did/made. That either cheers her up, or she starts to pin-point everything she did wrong. In this case scenario, lightly and Jokingly insult her for overthinking everything and being such a perfectionist. Another thing, every judgement or negative comment on her actions or creations will depress her, and she tries to hide it, but mostly fails.
Step 6:
Opinions (Second Part Of Step 4)
Nova is a very opinionated and emotional person, and when it comes to her belifs, she goes full out passionate about it. Often she rants and theorizes about shows, movies, or books she reads, and could go into full on nerd mode by just a question even closely related to a topic she enjoys. In these cases, ask her about it. Sometimes she can get a little...too passionate. She went as to believing magic was real and got totally obsessed with it. In these scenarions, I repeat for the thousandth time, support her, don't lecture her for being "a little kid". Everyone has the right to imagine.
