I had a crush on a guy who is about 18 years older than me..

But to tell you this story I'm going to have to go back 15 years ago...

Part One: How Joel broke my heart..

It was about the year 2001 and I was 1, (i don't remember any of this, multiple family members say this happened [my mom, my dad, my grandpa,] ) my parents went to a Rebecca St. James concert and they didn't have babysitting for me so I went along...

After the concert they got to meet Rebecca, basically she was playing at our church, my grandpa is the pastor there. So my grandpa had to stay until they took down all the stuff. Which meant my parents were staying to actually have a conversation with Rebecca while everyone else took stuff down.

I was crazy child and since I went to this church anyways my parents let me down and I was wandering around our church when I ran into someone, I looked up and boom! There looking down at me was the one the only (pre-famous) Joel Smallbone.

He looked at me like I was an alien or something. He looked at my mom who was about fifty yard away, picked me awkwardly up and asked loudly.

"Is this your child?"

My mom nodded, but she just went on with her conversation and Joel sat me back down. Slowly he began to walk away. But I toddled after him.

When he finally outran me and disappeared out the doors I couldn't open, I sat on the floor and wept until we got home and I fell asleep.

Part 2: Two years later (2003ish) (I have some memory of this, but again mostly from sources.

Two year later Rebecca was at our church again and so of course we went, we could get in for practically free because my grandpa was the pastor...

Anyhow... after the show I was tired.. I was half asleep when I saw him... He had come up to ask Rebecca something, and according to my mom I brightened up, and reached out my arms to him.

He didn't even look at me...

I was heartbroken again..
