OH, WHAT A DAY!
So, to start off: I didn't go to school today.
It was a half day anyways so.. I mean, really? You expect me to go? Ha! As if! I'd sooner grow wings and fly then do that bullcrap! (Actually I've wrote plenty of stories where I magically obtain wings soooooo..)
The real reason is actually because I went to take the written test for getting a driver's license!
My grandma, mom, and little sister (Toni, the 3 year old), and I went up to Superior to the DMV!
Or, rather, Mom to her doctor's appointment and Toni to Grandma Boop's..
But anyways, Gma and I went to the DMV our selves, and I took the test when she ran off again to go get Mom to see if Mom had her ID so they could identify that I was indeed the person I said I was.
Which I am.
Anyways! I took the test.
I was allowed 10 wrong answers, needing at least a score of 40 out of 50 to pass.
I took a practice test this morning to see what I needed to know, and only could get 8 questions wrong on that. I failed it.
One of the pre questions to show me how to answer the questions was "What is 2+2=?"
For a a few seconds I sat there with this dumb look, wondering what the hell math had to do with driving.
(In the back of my head I could hear my old math teachers screaming "exactly" from my faded memories)
Well, I did the test, getting a lot of questions right and some here and there wrong.
Ones that I got wrong where about a school bus, or contraction workers and such, and one about a blind person and their service dog crossing a street.
On the pre (I've been saying pre all day but I really mean practice test from this morning so just bare with me) test I had the same question, in which I answered "Stop within 10 feet and wait for them to finish crossing." Well, this time on the real test it gave me the option to put on my flashers because the service dog is trained to recognize flashers and get their owner off the road. Well, I assume it meant "slow down" too, but I got it wrong because it wanted the same answer as before.
Poopy.
Anyhoo, I got through some more questions until right about the last question, where I had one chance left to screw up the whole thing.
Let me tell you before hand that Grandma and I have a joke about stoplight and the yellow light. Green means go, red means stop, and yellow means GO FASTER.
The entire time up to taking the test, I had joke around, saying I wanted to pass the entire test with flying colors and only get ONE wrong on that question for being a smart ass.
But here's the thing, if you aren't quick enough to get where this is going.
The last question was:
"At a stop light, when the light is yellow, you:
• Slow down and proceed with caution
•Stop
•Go faster
I can't even explain how tempted I was to flunk the test by hitting "go faster".
I sat there for a few minutes just laughing, probably oblivious to the weird look the lady who set me up on the test was giving me from across the room.
In the end (quite literally), I chose the right answer and passed.
Yay!
But then there was another test :(
It was on signs though, and I passed it with 0 wrong!
And, after waiting for Grandma to get back, driving back to Maple to get Mom's ID, and back to the DMV to wait even longer..
I got my permit to drive!!
Woohoo! Now you can celebrate!!
I'm pretty damn excited about that!
That's pretty much the most exciting thing I did today!
Otherwise, I saw my Grandpa at his work, hung out with my lady fam, practically threw an iced coffee on the floor at Kwik Trip, and drove from Superior back to Maple! (We took Highway 2, where the speed limit is 65, and all together it's about a 30 minute drive, which is the longest I've done yet!)
So, yeah!!
That was my day!
Oh, and also I bought my first lottery ticket!
Or, first 4..
Mom and Gma wanted one, and I got 2.
Butt, sadly, none of us one..
Oh well.
But today was worth it anyways!
Like always!
So, congrats me on getting my permit, and saying "but", "so", and "anyways" more than enough times.
Now all I gotta do is take the skills test.
The one with a driving instructor.
Yeah, that can wait.
