Thoughts from Months Ago
Oopsie! Didn't mean to go this long with making a randomness chapter. All of these thoughts are from a REALLY long time ago. But I should maybe be getting back into the swing of things now. (Just had an interesting thought dump about Kazuichi)
I don't watch Jojo's Bizarre Adventures. I will probably never watch Jojo's Bizarre Adventures. Hell, I'm trusting autocorrect when it tells me there's an "s" at the end of the title. But DAMN. I love watching people cosplay Jojo versions of well-known characters like Dora and Mario.
Y'know, I think when you tell YouTube not to recommend a certain video or play a certain ad, one of the reasons why should be, "because it stresses me out." Same for Insta. It feels more specific than, "because I don't like it."
I LOVE when candy brands make packages of only one flavor of their candy. The all pink Starbursts, the all-strawberry Gushers, and now Sour Patch Kids sell like all of their flavors individually! It's the best!!
Perhaps this is an unpopular opinion, but I genuinely really love filler episodes, as long as it's not excessive. Filler serves to color in the "why." Why does the plot matter? Who does it serve? It gives a much more human element to any show, and that makes the heroes' motivations more compelling. Plus it also prevents us from getting exposition burnout.
Alec Benjamin has been pulling some really weird marketing stunt lately and it's making me uneasy. I love his music but I don't want him to wind up doing a bunch of scummy stuff for popularity.
Someone described Clemont from Pokémon as "relentlessly comforting" and that's absolutely exactly the way I feel about him. I don't think any other Pokémon character will ever be able to top him for me. I do really like Cheren, Hugh, and Curtis— in fact I accidentally named two characters in the same thing Hugh and Curtis— but Clemont is just the forever favorite.
People need to stop trying to remake Mean Girls. It's just not gonna work. Mean Girls is good enough as it is and everyone's just gonna watch that one.
How the FUCK did I JUST put it together that Omori's Good and Bad ending songs are "Good Morning" and "Good Night" respectively?!
I feel like I'm the only Steven Universe fan who genuinely really likes Escapism (the episode, not the song. Everyone loves the song)
There's this YouTuber that I'm watching react to The Dangers in My Heart, and she keeps breaking up the audio to prevent copyright issues, which, totally fair. But the music she inserts is a royalty-free one that shows up in Hatoful Boyfriend during a really impactful moment and it distracts me EVERY SINGLE TIME XD
"Stay Determined" and "Be Happy" are both phrases that I already had a strong association with, and then Assassination Classroom goes and gives both of them even MORE personal meaning to me. Fuck.
I really hate sin videos. Oftentimes, they'll sin something because they don't understand it. Or worse, they sin something that gets explained in two seconds and then don't take the sin back. Win videos are way better and leave me in a way less cranky mood.
It is uniquely embarrassing and amusing when someone jokingly does ASMR for like two seconds in a video and you actually get tingles from it. Like they're usually messing around and being like "OMG am I doing it? XD" and I'm like yeaaaaaah you kind of are.
I really like the trope where a character is about to get really angry at someone for like accidentally running into them or hitting them with a ball or something, but then it turns out it's their crush and they instantly soften up.
