Oh boy here I go again on another rant. But trust me it's actually relevant to Wattpad.

So I was searching through some Legend of Zelda fanfictions to see what other people were writing and reading, you know? See what people liked to try and put that into my own. But as I read, my dissapointment slowly grew...

Most of the highly read stories were actually pretty bad in terms of plot and pacing. Now don't get me wrong, there are many fanfictions that are amazing, with well fleshed out and loveable characters, a great plot and pacing, as well as decent and believable drama and conflict. But many are quickly written and poorly paced with shallow characters and very forced drama.

This bothers me a great deal. Now I can see if you're just trying out writing and you're having some trouble with it, but you can always go back and rewrite it if you really care about it.

Now it's not just the writer's fault. If a story is too forced in terms of plot, then say something to the writer to help them improve. Don't just say "great story! Keep it up!" when the characters are all shallow and the like. I've re-written my one three times now because I don't want to give crappy reading material when I know I can do better. And even still, I know I can improve on it if I really tried to. If I can do it, I know other people can. I'm possibly the laziest person anyone can meet and yet I've done it.

So why can't others?

Okay, that about sums it up...I have a lot more that I want to say but I don't want to insult anyone so imma just end it here.
