The splashy Adventure of Rooks (Gedicht #1)

A rook arose in early dawn,
From his roost, loose and free.
He asked, "Shall I sit and yawn,
Or adventure, shall that be?"

Sarin flowers, oh so sweet,
With hues of morning glow.
On spongy earth with soft inset,
Where cool zephyrs blow.

He swooped down prone in playful mirth,
A splendid splat ensued.
His testy feathers spread in girth,
His needy hunger subdued.

Tested less by the struggles of life,
More by his heart's bold quest.
A journey's worth, stripped of strife,
In moments he loved best.
