Imagine doing a personal experiment towards Sherlock, John, Mycroft and the police force

For about a year you had been working with Sherlock and John since you moved in with charlock because John left to live with Mary but after 3 months of living with him you started dating and everyone knew Sherlock couldn't function without some form attention from you or else they would go mad

You on the other hand countered saying that they would be fine without you paying attention to sherlock and they are just being dramatic and that was 7 months ago so one day you got up and decided to start your experiment of ignoring Sherlock, John, Mycroft and his team of police taskforce know as Chris {Greg}, Anderson and Donovan knowing they would've forgotten about it by now

At first it was easy Sherlock left early for a case leaving you alone in the flat to do some cleaning then went out for some shopping using Sherlock's card since he knew you wouldn't overspend anything on it unless it wasn't useless in his opinion

After about 2 hours you came back to the flat already hearing Sherlock arguing to John about the case so you took a small breath before walking through the door to the kitchen and started to unload the shopping which made them look at you when they heard the bags clink against the test tubes

"Y/N tell John he's being stupid" Sherlock yelled at you hoping you would take his side but only got silence

"Sherlock she doesn't even know what we are talking about let alone asking for an opinion right Y/N?" he spoke out before asking your opinion but again met with silence

"Y/N?" Sherlock question a lot calmer then the last time but now they are both laced with confusion since you always got in the middle of the arguments to get them to stop but today you didn't

"damnit I forgot the tea" you spoke out to yourself as you emptied the bag that contained the coffee and sugar you bought for the house since John used the last cup yesterday since Mycroft came over for whatever reasoning

"forget the tea this is more important" Sherlock spoke out as he watched you finish unloading the bags before leaving again with your handbag "Y/N!" he called but still no answer but you greeted Mrs. Hudson when you got to the bottom of the stairs

"is Sherlock in?" she asked softly as made her way to the bottom of the stairs as you got closer to the front door

"I don't know I haven't seen him since this morning" you replied softly lying which you hated doing but it was part of the experiment making her nod as she went upstairs as you went out the door back to the shops grinning as you did so knowing Sherlock was watching because of what Mrs Hudson said to him which was probably along the lines of "oh she said you weren't in how odd"

After an hour you returned back to the flat with a few bags in your hand along with a drink but didn't get Sherlock anything as per usual so when you walked into the kitchen he was busy doing his science experiments but didn't talk to him

"that was a long time for just getting tea Y/N" he questioned absentmindedly but you didn't answer him as you set your drink down and started to unload the bag that contained shopping in purposely forgetting his earl grey

When you were done you went into the living room with your drink and started going on your laptop for no reason just to keep your mind occupied from Sherlock or else your only option is to talk to him

Now keep in mind Sherlock does ignore you on many occasions during the day but he does always like to hear your voice no matter the cause of it whether it be cursing at a game or muttering he didn't mind but when he doesn't hear it for long he acts like he doesn't care but he craves it and you know that he does

When it was getting late you normally persuade Sherlock to share and shower with you and go to bed but instead you just did it without informing him which confused him as he watched you walk down the hallway to the bathroom and lock the door then when you were done you just walked to him room to go to bed all the while he was still doing his experiments

The next day you woke up a little later than normal and entered the kitchen with sherlocks white suit shirt and underwear not caring to who was in the flat and made yourself a cuppa

"morning Y/N" Mycroft greeted from his chair across from Sherlock but got silence in return making Sherlock and Mycroft sigh

"see what I mean it's like were not even here" Sherlock replied as they both watched you curiously from their seats but Mycroft and John quickly looked away when you leaned up to grab the teabags from the top shelf making the top ride up and showed your purple lace underwear

"you know maybe she's mad at you Sherlock did you do something?" John suggests awkwardly from the table as he types on his laptop probably writing up a case to try and not look at you

"and what could I have done to deserve the silent treatment?" Sherlock replied with a scoff

"let me think attitude is one, lack of attention when it comes to her, spending most of your time on cases, not going on-" he started listening but Sherlock cut him off

"ok ok John I get the picture" Sherlock waved off with the bow but sighed

"well, I hope you get it sorted and I hope you have a nice day John and Y/N" Mycroft spoke with a slight cough since he got flustered and got up then said goodbye to you and John since he knows that you're in a mood he still treats you like he normally would regardless

This went on for a few weeks with Sherlock trying to get you to go on dates with him and well whined and begged for you to talk to him which you found cute all the while John and the police force were trying to get you to fix Sherlock since he wasn't acting like himself and the cases were taking longer to solve

It went to the whole point where Moriarty 'kidnapped you' to a fancy restaurant on the other side of London to ask you what was wrong with Sherlock and you gave him lies as to what was wrong and he demanded you fix him which earned him a slap to the face and you leaving the restaurant but he didn't chase you or anything since you didn't do anything to him prior to the slap

So, one day a week later while Mycroft and Sherlock were sitting in their chairs arguing over theories on why you were acting the way you were because they couldn't deduce your attitude so you took a deep amused breath

"John do you want to hear an interesting fact?" you asked John amused making him turn to you on the couch with a nod but you could see it shocked him a bit that you finally spoke "I think you'll want to hear it"

"sure, what is it?" he asked since you did have some fun ones despite Sherlock always giving them facts which always made you or John feel stupid

"despite the Holmes boys training themselves or more so Mycroft training Sherlock to never show emotion and such they seem to be showing a mass amount of emotions these past few weeks" you replied while trying not to laugh "it just goes to show that a few weeks without a women's input they can show whatever emotion they need to get them to talk" you added making John smirk

"yes it is very interesting I see you have broken the Holmes siblings in just a matter of weeks I wonder what a few months would've done" he added making you both laugh while the Holmes brothers were just staring at you both in a mixture of shock and annoyance

"so, you ignoring us all was a test?" Mycroft asked in confusion but you knew he was hiding his annoyance while they both turned their bodies to you

"I wouldn't say test more of an experiment if you will for everyone because you all say you can't handle Sherlock when he doesn't get any attention from me but in reality you all lasted perfectly fine till 3 hours ago when you turned up Mycroft and started angrily deducing on why I was mysteriously quiet to dear Sherlock here" you spoke out in an unsure tone at first but soon turned amusing as the days went on

"so, I didn't do anything wrong?" Sherlock asked confused as he walked towards you by a few steps

"at first yes but I soon forgot about it and continued with the experiment" you spoke out calmly before laughing at the end at his reaction of trying to guess what he did wrong before calming down and forgetting it from his mind palace and continued with the current task now of trying to get Mycroft leave the flat
