You are Y/N and you're the daughter of Sherlock Holmes and at the age of 16 you had moved in with Sherlock when John had moved out you got his old room which would permanently be yours since you would be living there for the forceable future and he made John aware of this incase he wanted to come back to live there

Sherlock had made sure that no one knew who you were prior to living with him but he made sure that you went to private schools and got the best while you were living with your mother but since she started dating someone else you decided to stay with Sherlock since you thought he would be best out of the two parents

Since you trusted Sherlock with your life when you were in and out of school you went on cases with him but you always did as you were told so when Sherlock wanted you to do something for him with no questions asked he would always say 'Sherlock says' which is similar to the old-fashioned game of 'Simon says' at first it was mainly for stupid things but it soon became a trust bond you both had and if you refused even after he said it he knew that it would've broke the trust you both had

And here are some examples of him using them and the only time you use it:

Example 1:

So, one day there was a case in a rusty old factory and it required someone skillful and flexible to get to what they needed which was covered in acid and certain objects in the middle that created a pathway for someone of that stature of flexibility and John couldn't do it and neither could he so he turned to you who was trying to unlock the door for them since Greg, Donovan or Anderson couldn't get unlocked

"Y/N" Sherlock spoke out as he looked at you making you turn to him with a small smile

"yes Sherlock?" you questioned using his work name when around everyone else but used dad when it was just you both and started walking over to him leaving the door for the time being

"I need you to get the bag before the acid does" he spoke out knowing you were flexible since you did daily gymnastics on your spare time that wasn't spent with him, school or John

"she is not doing this Sherlock she could die" John spoke out as he watched you look at the scene in front of you and your raised your hands up in defense

"nope not happening" you spoke out as you backed up before turning on your heal and went back to the door sorting out the picklocks in your hand

"good that you refused I wouldn't let you do it anyway and you're an ass Sherlock for getting her to do it for you" John spoke out seeming pleased with your answer and annoyed at Sherlock for asking you such a thing

"Sherlock says get the bag for me" he spoke out making you stop in your spot while everyone else looked at you both confused as if they didn't understand what you both meant by 'Sherlock says'

"sure, just hold these for me" you spoke out after a few moments and a small sigh before handing Sherlock your school bag and jacket which he held for you naturally but he wouldn't do it for anyone else which confused everyone even more than the 'Sherlock says' thing

"you're not doing this you could die or get severely injured" John spoke out as you took off your shoes and socks setting them by Sherlock before backing up to get enough speed to run

"John don't get involved" he spoke out moving him away from your line of sight but didn't hold him down thinking it wasn't necessary at the time

"Sherlock says John it's the way it goes" you spoke out as if it was a natural thing that Sherlock does for people but in reality he only did it for you but before you went to grab the back you started stretching a bit since you haven't done your daily gym session today

"it's not how it goes!" John spoke annoyed as he watched you then Sherlock who never took his eyes off you

"what does that even mean?" Donovan asked as she watched you and Sherlock confused since they have never heard of this despite the X amount of years he had been working with them

"don't you get involved either or any of you leave her to do this for us" he spoke out in his usual tone but you knew he was worried for your safety and wellbeing so when you got a running start you only got halfway when John stopped you making you sigh annoyed

"don't risk your life for him" he tried pleading with you but you looked at him annoyed as Sherlock held him down with protests as you redid your run and successfully got halfway before regaining your balance and continued as you got to the platform with the bag on and zipped it up before slinging it on yourself as a body bag

"can you get back?" Sherlock asked as most of your entry was gone making you panic a bit as you looked around quickly but took a deep breath to calm yourself since you were starting to panic "take deep breathes and evaluate your situation" he spoke out mentally cursing himself as he was quoting Mycroft to you which is the last thing he wanted to do

"no but I'll find another way don't worry" you replied after a bit doing as he said before finding a railing above you almost in reach so you jumped a bit and almost got it before doing it again and grabbed a hold of it just as the platform you were just on fell "fucking great" you muttered watching it get dissolved

"Sherlock!" John growled as he watched you but glanced at Sherlock for a mere second to glare at him for making you risk your life for a stupid case

Just as you were climbing up the police barged open the door making you jump slightly and lose your grip causing you to slip a bit before recovering and eventually climbing over then making your way back to Sherlock annoyed and slightly shook but he took it out on the police on your behalf but he never did it before for anyone which confused them more but you both left the building while they were trying to ask questions but instead went to grab a taxi and went home

Example 2:

When you were on summer break and Sherlock was running a case on his murder board and you were sitting at the table doing your homework on your laptop humming a bit but Sherlock groaned as he heard then saw Mycroft at the door

"what do you want?" Sherlock asked as he didn't even look at him but Mycroft looked at you curiously since you both haven't met before but you and Sherlock had practiced the interaction when it happens to confuse Mycroft and John since he didn't get told either

"can't I come visit you when I need to dear brother?" Mycroft spoke out as he played with his umbrella slightly with a fake smile

"not unless you have a case to follow your presence" he replied as he didn't bother looking at him

"well, I don't but I do have...who are you?" Mycroft spoke out looking at Sherlock before noticing you who was just typing on your laptop rather quickly as if you just found a burst of inspiration

"Sherlock says to welcome Mycroft" he spoke out as he was focused on his board so you got up with a smile and held out your hand and he shook it warmly but was still confused

"hi, you must be Mycroft it's always nice to meet more of the Holmes family" you spoke out happily making Mycroft freeze in place at what you just said while John spat out his tea slightly over his laptop screen

"what do you mean?" Mycroft asked as he looked at you while you pulled off your hand and made your way back to the seat casually not answering his question

"oh, did I forgot to tell you I'm so sorry" he spoke out sarcastically but grinned happily at how speechless his brother and John got which pleased you both since it made you both concentrate more on the task at hand despite it being two different things

"that your married? Does mother know?" he asked but got no response as he had an epiphany in his case before rushing out the door but popped his head back in and gave you a certain look making you sigh and nod before he fully left the flat and went into a taxi then not long after Mycroft left for his work since he got a call but was still curious to who you were since Sherlock didn't confirm his theories and you didn't say anything to him

The time you used yours:

On other cases you have saved him from Moriarty and several times he was almost sent to prison but despite Sherlock being Sherlock and not listening to anyone when they want to do something him but you were different

You needed stuff for school and several other things but just outside your room was Sherlock monologuing his case to people while they were arguing with him about how he was wrong a such so you made a list about what you needed and walked out

"Sherlock I-" you started before John cut you off before you got more of your words out which he thought would've been useless given what happened in the last 30 minutes

"he's not listening to us so I would wait a bit" he spoke out with a soft smile which made you smirk a bit as you held out the list in your hand up in the air

"Y/N says take me shopping" you spoke out and without a second thought or another word from Sherlock about any case he stopped what he was doing and went to grab his jacket and the list from your hand then began to read it

"all you need?" he asked as you both started walking downstairs while everyone was muttering to themselves behind you both about how you stopped Sherlock from doing a case in mere seconds

"yes but I might need a new laptop as well since that one is starting to malfunction a bit" you spoke out causing him to nod as they got to the street with John behind them since he started to follow you and so did the rest of them

"Sherlock what about the case you just hit a breakthrough" Lestrade tried to persuade him to go back upstairs to finish it since they needed him caught before he does another crime

"it can wait for a while I'm busy with this" he spoke out motioning to the list he had in his hand and got into the taxi to take you to where you needed to go

After 3 hours they came back to the flat with everything you needed as well as few things for Sherlock too and he went back to his case as if what he did didn't happen

"oh, your back" John replied from the kitchen since you both assume he was waiting for you both to come back "how was the shopping?" he asked as Sherlock gave him the cold shoulder which was expected

"it was fun got suits for school, a new laptop and some new stationary" you replied with a smile as you were starting to set up the new laptop at the table in the living room

"how did you do that?" he asked as you gave him a confused look before realizing what he meant

"oh..." you laughed a bit "hi my name is Y/N Holmes I am Sherlock's daughter and I would highly advise that you don't tell anyone about it since it would ruin Mycroft's little deduction route that he has going on" you added with a small chuckle

"3 weeks and counting" Sherlock chuckled as he went back to the case in silence "he assumes you are my wife" he added with a small grin

"daughter? Since when?" John asked shocked as he tried to wrap his head around when he had a girlfriend or wife for that matter in the time he was here

"I was born 10 years before you turned up so I've been with my mom till she got another boyfriend and even then I chose Sherlock since I felt like he would be a better parent and I didn't like the new boyfriend he was a right arse" you explained making him nod before Sherlock sprinted out to tell Lestrade and John followed soon after quickly telling you goodbye
