1st year

While you were in your first year Remus was in his second, so he was showing you around Diagon alley while also collecting your beginner items he held most of your stuff while all of his stuff was in his bag prepped and ready for school.

"So now you just need your books and quill then your set" he spoke reading off your list turning to look at you but got distracted by his friends halfway.

"Hey Mooney, what's with all the parcels" Sirius asked curiously taking one of the piles to inspect it before you snatched it out of his hands before he could.

"It's mine so none of your business" you spoke with a bit sass as you went to collect the rest of the stuff from Remus before walking ahead of them.

"Woah moons who was that?" James asked laughing as he watched you go.

"Y/N...my little sister" he sighed as him and his friends were watching you go into borgin and Burke's.

"You have a sister since when?" Sirius asked confused.

"Always had one but never mentioned it since I didn't think she would be accepted here" Remus spoke with a shrug.

"Well, she's nothing like you" Sirius laughed patting his shoulder as they headed to the store.

"Oh, she is she just is a bit on the bitchy side when she feels the need to let it out" Remus sighed slightly.

"Definitely Slytherin then" James laughed causing Remus to hit him on the back of the head forcefully.

When they got in, they saw you sitting on the floor upstairs flicking through some advance magic while the pile of my schoolbooks was next to me.

"You can't have those advanced books those are for 3rd years" Remus sighed taking the book off you and put it back on the shelf causing James and Sirius to laugh and you to scowl at them while seated before standing.

"You know if you wanted to embarrass me in front of your so-called friends at least do it in a less busy shop" I glared taking my books and his money since he was told by our mom to pay for the school supplies and went to the check-out to pay for them.

"You two aren't helping you know that right?" Remus spoke turning to them.

"Hey, it's not our fault that your sister is being moody" James spoke raising his hands as Remus left to the till when you did since he didn't want to lose you.

"I'm going to the train do what you like in the next 25 minutes or so" I glared handing him his money back and headed to the train station bumping into peter accidentally on the way.

"Hey, watch where you're going!" He yelled turning and stopping to look at you.

"You should be paying attention then!" you shot back annoyed clutching the parcels tighter.

"Peter got the attitude as well James your next" Sirius laughed patting his shoulder.

"She wouldn't dare" James laughed till you were out of his vision then turned back to the boys.

"She would and she wouldn't care but if I said no well, she wouldn't it just that you shouldn't have touched her stuff and maybe she would've been nice to you Sirius" Remus chuckled as they started talking in the middle of dragon alley before going to random shops for the boy's sake since he had everything.

You arrive at Hogwarts.

When you got off the train with the boys you walked away with Remus close behind

"I'll be in the great hall ok you'll be fine with the teachers" he spoke out as he looked at you.

"I know you said it was the safest place on earth" I sighed watching him.

"It is and don't worry about what house you'll get mother and father will still love you the same" he added fixing your robes.

"Yeah, but what if I'm in a house they both hate?" I asked looking down knowing that you would be.

"Then they will have to accept it you can't change what the hat has given you, but I'll be by your side all through the year" he smiled before letting you go since all the first years were heading off.

"Wait where are you going?" I asked as he headed towards his friends who were going a different path.

"Hurry up moony or we will leave without you!" James called as they walked away but Remus knew that they would wait for him regardless.

"First years take the boats then the rest of the years we get carriages" he explained with a small smile before motioning you to go which you were hesitant for

Remus waited for you to go so you didn't do anything stupid but once he saw you head towards the boats, he waited a few moments before joining his friends.

As you got on the boat ride you sat in awe as you took in the castle and its scenery

Meanwhile at the great hall

Remus was watching the great hall doors with interest mainly waiting for you come through.

"Relax moony she will be here soon" James spoke patting his arm.

"I know" he sighed trying to get into their conversation, but his eyes always drifted to the door causing them to sigh slightly but knew what it was like

After a few moments he saw them open, and a smile formed on his lips as he watched you before patting your arm when you went past causing you to look at him with a smile.

Professor McGonagall stood by a small stool while she held out a scroll "once I say your name you will come up and you will be sorted into your houses" she spoke before listing off a few before it got to you.

"Ah another lupin to cause more trouble in the school halls like your brother with his friends" the hat spoke causing the maurders to laugh in the almost silent great hall.

"But where to put you" he thought for a few moments "your brave and not afraid to stand up for yourself but always thrive for power" he added but went back to silence which made Remus slightly nervous before he finally shouted, "I know where to put you SLYTHERIN"?

When he spoke those words Remus' smile soon faded as he watched you go to the Slytherin table and sat in-between tom riddle and regulus black

"Hey, it's ok she won't love you any different" Sirius spoke as he placed a hand on his back.

"I know but I won't be able to protect her as much now" he sighed "since she's not in our house" he added turning to look at you who was staring back at him with a soft smile and a small wave.

Remus gave a small smile back and waved a bit before going back to his friends.

When dinner was over, they all walked out but you walked over to Remus who looked upset so you stopped and hugged Remus from behind.

"I'm sorry I'm not with you" you whispered in his back gripping onto him tighter.

"Don't be I'll still watch over you like the guard dog I am" he chuckled slightly since it was a little joke to his animangas.

"Will I still be able to go on your trips outside?" I asked curiously causing the other 3 marauders to look at Remus wearily.

"Of course, but one of them will have to make sure you're ok" he smiled softly as he moved to get the box from his pocket.

"Your quill since you forgot to buy one" he hummed softly as he motioned the marauders to go on without him.

(The quill he got you if you didn't guess heh)

"Thanks" I smiled slightly but glared at the boys who were fake awing at them before they left us alone.

After a few moments you both got separated by the prefects due to the fact they were in different houses but albus let him take you to the dorm since he could tell that we were inseparable.

3 months later

You and Remus spent time together for study times and or relaxing in the courtyard while his friends were off doing God knows what, but they did spend time with you with or without Remus despite you being a Slytherin which Sirius hated due to his brother and family but was fine with you since you were Remus' family.

Remus protected you but Sirius mainly protected you when he wasn't around as if it was his duty through your year in school and if he or Sirius couldn't help you his other friends would despite the house, you're in cause all they saw was Remus' sister getting bullied.

When it came to Christmas time you decided to stay at Hogwarts with Sirius who always refused to go home since Hogwarts was more his home then his actual home

You and Remus both got a letter from our parents for the Christmas plans, but Remus was the only one allowed to go home but he didn't know you weren't since he assumed you got the same letter as him.

After breakfast you joined Remus up in his dorm packing with a small chuckle since he assumed he would be packing yours too

"I'll be fine Remus it's not like I'm going to cause any trouble I'm not your friends" I sighed a bit as I watched him pack his trunk.

"Yeah, I know that you aren't, but I would rather spend Christmas with you at our home with the family" he spoke softly turning to you holding his jumper in one hand.

"Then I guess we didn't get the same letter then?" I spoke shaking my head as I stood from Sirius' bed and headed to the door.

"What letter? The one where they are happy that were coming home for Christmas?" He spoke confused watching you.

"She said that to you? She told me to stay while you and the family have a happy holiday" I replied stopping a few steps away from the door but moved when students came and went.

"I told you that my house would be a problem, but you just never seen it cause your always the optimist" I chuckled slightly but sighed a bit walking out muttering a small but upset sorry when I accidentally bumped into James and peter who were walking in.

"What happened?" Peter asked confused as he watched you walk away.

"My parents don't like her house, so they didn't invite her to the Christmas dinner at our house" Remus spoke with a sigh as he went back to packing.

"Harsh man but hey she has Sirius here to be her guard dog" James joked amused just as Sirius walked in looking confused.

"Hahaha funny James how long did it take you to get that one?" Remus spoke with a fake laugh as he went back to his luggage a bit moody.

"What's funny?" Sirius asked moving his pillows a bit to sit on his bed comfortably.

"You're going to be Y/Ns guard dog for the Christmas" James laughed which made him laugh too but Sirius soon died down when Remus glared at him.

After an hour you and Sirius waved Remus and his other friends goodbye before they walked back along the dirt road chatting along the way after a small awkward few moments of silence halfway up the trail

As you were both chatting you realised you both had a lot in common with him then you led to believe

Over the course of the Christmas, you and Sirius had gotten closer, but both kept it quiet and acted like you both hated each other when it came to the other houses seeing us getting along during the course of Christmas.
