Imagine what a day in the office is like when they have nothing to do but boring paperwork

You had been working at the BAU roughly the same time as Spencer and Morgan and you both became the trio that normally Hotch didn't mind since they all got along regardless and even after you started dating Spencer it didn't faze the group as they all shipped us together.

But as you all turned up at the office with coffees in hand but you who had tea but regardless as you walked in, they all had the same number of piles of files on their desk causing everyone to groan but you and Spencer since you both didn't mind the paperwork part of the job

"Guys it will be fine you guys have the coffee in the kitchen, hotch has my tea and or energy drinks in the fridge we will get through this" you spoke out patting Morgan's shoulder softly before going to your desk and spencer joined you since his desk was across from you

"Tell me in 3 hours when this pile hasn't made a dent in my progress" Morgan replied as he sat at his desk and place down his to go cup of coffee before starting the pile

"I don't know Morgan if you keep complaining the longer the process will take" Emily replied as she looked at him before taking a sip of her coffee Prentiss

An hour later

Everyone had at least done about 15 cases, but you and Spencer had a competition if they finish so many before the time is up on their computer the other person does something for them, but we had to stop the timer when Hotch came downstairs to see the team

"This is for training purposes and for self-defense reasons I'm going to pretend to be a burglar and you guys had to act wisely" Hotch explained as he looked at everyone and some nodded in response to show that they heard him

"Sure" Spencer replied as he fiddled with his hand slightly but remained eye contact with him

"Okay" JJ replied as she turned in her seat as she faced him fully

"If you want to live give me all your money" Hotch spoke out trying to sound menacing

"Bold of you to assume I want to live" you spoke out with a questionable look on your face as you looked up at Hotch

"Bold of you to assume I have money" Emily replied as the team tried not to laugh while hotch shook his head and walked off back to his office making the team laugh at what happened knowing that he wouldn't try that game again if that was the result of him doing a hypothetical test on the team for the first time

30 minutes pass

"Fuck you!" he exclaimed in fake anger as you had beat him in the little game that you were playing but no one else knew you guys were playing it since they were too focused in their own little workspaces

"Reid..." Hotch replied as she watched from the railing outside of his office and looked down at him

"He can swear?" Emily replied as she turned to looked at him with a concerned look on her face

"Is everything okay spence?" JJ asked as she got up to walk to him

"Boy genius what happened? Who do I have to kill?" Garcia claimed as she just walked into the room not a few seconds beforehand to give some stuff that JJ had asked for

"I mean I would but not in the office too many people around" you replied with a small giggle look towards him, but he made a soft look towards you but was blushing darkly at the comment

"What the fuck is wrong with these goddamned children that is this team" Rossi spoke out as she observed the scene in front of him before him and hotch dispersed back into their office while you sat their offended and upset but chuckled at the comment after a few moments

2 hours past

Everyone was almost done with their work but you and Spencer so as you both were packing up your bags everyone stopped slightly and stretched whereas Emily was thinking about something

"Penny for your thoughts Em" you spoke as you fixed your bag strap

"Does anyone know how to play the trumpet?" she asked casually but still deep in thought as she stared into space

"Why?" JJ asked as she set another file on the done pile on her desk

"I wanna wonder around the office and play one to annoy Hotch on days like these" she spoke ut as she moved to look at Hotch's office

"Technically you don't need to know how to play the trumpet to annoy Hotch" he replied as he pushed his chair into his desk before handing the files to the assistant that came into collect the complete files and you did the same with someone else

"Thank you, Reid you have completely opened my eyes," she replied as she looked at Reid as of she had a epiphany and knew what she was going to do

"Er...no problem" he replied awkwardly

After a few moments you both checked in with Hotch and Rossi before leaving the office for your own personal date night which mainly consists of Reid cooking dinner while you prepped the night for marathons 2 from his selection and 2 from yours but mainly something that you both liked so that you weren't the only one enjoying the show
