Thanks and enjoy
You walked into the lab.
Tony looked busy, as always, but you didn't care about that enough to leave him alone again.
There was a part of you that wanted to avoid this, like you always did, like everyone did, but you knew it wouldn't be the right thing to do.
There was AC/DC blasting through the speakers as you looked around at all the half-finished projects, papers on the floor and empty coffee mugs.
No one had seen Tony for the past 4 days, the team ignored it again, probably thinking it was normal for someone to lock themselves away for 4 days straight, not sleeping and barely eating.
"Hey Tony" you said.
Tony didn't hear you since the music was way louder than your voice.
"Hey!", you said a little louder this time.
Still nothing.
"Tony!" You knew he heard you this time, but he ignored it.
"HEY!"
Tony paused the music and span around in his chair. He looked tired, really tired.
He rubbed in his eyes before looking up at you.
"What do you want?" he asked rather annoyed.
"I want to ask you a question", you replied walking towards him.
"About what?"
"About you", you answered.
He looked confused, his brain slow from the lack of sleep.
"Alright... what is it?"
You paused for a moment.
"What's wrong Tony?", you sighed softly, trying to make him hear that you only asked this, because you cared about him and that you saw that there was something going on.
He took a deep breath and turned back around irritated.
"Tony answer me..."
You looked at his back, that was bent over the desk again.
"I'm fine whatever, leave me alone I'm busy", he muttered and turned the music back on.
You were annoyed by how stubborn Tony was, but you couldn't blame him.
"Mute", you said sternly and the music stopped again.
You could see Tony was really annoyed at this point as he turned around again.
He gave you a look that made you think you really should leave him alone.
But instead you looked up at his tired eyes and said calmly, "I didn't ask how you were doing Tony, I asked what was wrong."
For a moment it looked like he was going to personally throw you out of the lab, but he didn't do anything, he just looked at you.
You could see he bit the inside of his check, but you weren't sure if it was to stop himself from screaming at you or crying.
"You don't look fine...", you continued
"Then what do I look like (Y/N)?!", he suddenly snapped.
His voice raised, he was almost screaming, but the moment he realized it, he looked down in shame.
"You look like me", you said softly.
He looked up at you, confused.
"And I am way from fine."
You watched how his whole body tensed up.
You stepped closer trying to comfort him, but he turned away, not wanting to face you.
"I don't have time for this (Y/N)"
"Then make time!", you spoke, raising your own voice this time, but it was shaking.
Your heart was pounding, but your weren't mad, you were concerned; scared.
"You're right... I'm not fine" he said, as a single tear rolled down his cheek.
He stood up and hugged you as more tears started to follow.
"And it's okay not to be fine sometimes, Tony... You'll get there", you hugged him back tightly.
