Introducing Kate Bishop in the MCU (Part 2)
credit for this fan art goes to the artist who for a second made me think this was real
A/N: Some of you seemed to like the way I wrote about Kate Bishop being introduced in the MCU. Here's how I thought it would continue. Now, I realize that some of this is highly unlikely to happen if Kate actually became a part of the MCU but it's not like I'm actually writing for Marvel. I'm writing this for my own entertainment and for those of you who want to read this. Before we get started, I just want to say a few words about Pietro being brought back to life. (Is it confirmed that he's coming back?? Tbh, I'm too afraid to trust anyone saying he is, haha.) Anyways, I thought that could have happened with GH.325 or the way Scarlet Witch brought Wonder Man back to life in the comics, with love *insert hearteyes* (and her powers ofc) but of course the love will be different, with Simon it was romantic and with Pietro it's brotherly/sisterly love. Idk if I'm gonna continue whatever this is because I'm pretty much out of ideas but I might. I'm sorry I can't give you a proper answer.Okay, I'm done with the A/N. Idk if I'm gonna continue whatever this is because I'm pretty much out of ideas but I might. I'm sorry I can't give you a proper answer.
Warning: Some comic references, nothing you'll get confused by.
"Oh, my God, this is so cool." Kate gasped as they pulled up at the compound, showing the famous Avengers logo on the side of the building. She practically jumped out of the car before it fully stopped moving and walked over to the door, seeing Tony Stark behind the glass doors, talking to someone before shooing them away. Kate walked through the doors and Tony took a few steps towards her.
"Kate Bishop, right?" He asked while extending his hand for her to shake.
"Mr Stark, hi," she said and shook his hand. "Yeah, I'm Kate."
Tony nodded and motioned to the elevator. The two started walking towards the elevator with Steve and Clint following behind. "I take it you need an upgrade on your gear?" Tony broke the silence that had settled only a few seconds before.
Kate shrugged, "I guess, yeah."
"We've got many kinds of arrows and I already have some ideas, some prototypes in the lab if you're interested," Tony said as he pressed a button before the elevator doors shut. "We could arrange a time for you to test them out if you're not too busy."
Kate's eyes widened slightly as she stood between Steve and Tony, Clint being right in front of her. She shot Clint a surprised look who just gave her a confused one in return. Kate swallowed slowly, nodding her head as she tried not to seem too excited. "Yeah, that'd be cool," she said slowly, leaning against the wall in a carefree manner.
Clint rolled her eyes, knowing Kate was freaking out on the inside. Kate was a big fan of the Avengers, always asked about them when she and Clint got the chance to see each other.
The doors opened and Clint walked out first, turning around the corner to be met with Bruce Banner. He was dressed in a lab coat as he looked through the tablet he was holding, pushing his glasses further up his nose.
"Banner," Steve called out and the curly haired man looked up, placing the tablet under his arm, holding it tightly to his side. He took off his glasses and placed them in his pocket, seeing Kate walking behind them while looking around the hall. "This is Kate Bishop, the archer Clint told us about."
"The archer," Kate muttered. "That's one way to put it," she said and pushed past Steve, extending her hand for Bruce to shake. "Hi, I'm Hawkeye."
Bruce took Kate's hand in his and shook it but shot a confused look to Clint who looked like it was killing him not to roll his eyes. Clint sighed through his nose and turned to Kate. "It's... her codename isn't final, yet."
"What do you mean it's not final?" Kate asked, brows furrowing. "I've been working with that name for—"
"You can't just steal someone's name!" Clint fought back, voice rising.
"I didn't—"
"It's nice to meet you, Kate." Bruce interrupted the bickering taking place and pulled his hand back. "We really need all the help we can get. We're glad to have you on board."
Kate gave Bruce a small smile and nodded. "I'm happy to help."
"Alright, that's four Avengers out of many, let's just take a look of the arrows now, avoid getting you too overwhelmed by all these superheroes, yeah?" Tony said, placing a hand on Kate's back and leading her forward.

Kate was in the training room with Tony and Clint, Steve had gone his own way and Bruce had stayed out of their way because he had some own research to do. They couldn't afford to take much breaks, only Tony and Clint were really needed in the training room by Kate's side.
Tony was the one who provided most of Clint's arrows, at least the custom made ones. He was the one who build them, modified them to fit Clint. Clint was the one using the arrows, obviously. They were both pretty much experts when it came to the arrows they had. That is why it was good to have them both with Kate while she tried them out.
She was shooting arrows, hitting the targets on the other side of the room. She listened to Tony and Clint as they told her about the arrows. She had tried out a suction-tip arrow, a smoke bomb arrow, acid arrow and an arrow with a grappling hook which she had used on the ceiling, swinging back and forth on the rope it left behind.
It was finally time for the net arrow. Clint and Tony watched intently as she raised the bow, taking the net arrow from the table beside her. Her back muscles tightened and locked as she aimed for the target, she slowed her breathing, exhaled and just as she relaxed her hand, she turned around and shot the net arrow at Clint, getting him tangled underneath the net.
She was smiling smugly while Clint cursed, struggling with being under the net that tightened around him.
Tony pursed his lips, trying to prevent a smile as he looked at the scene before him, amused. "We also have net arrows like that only they give a little electric shock to the person getting tangled in the net. We don't have those with us right now... Unfortunately."
Clint shot an annoyed look at Tony. "Shut up and come help me out of this," the captured archer complained. Tony strolled over to Clint and helped him out of the net.
"This net is so strong that a knife won't cut it. We've had some unfortunate mishaps with the net in the past, it's foolproof now," Tony explained to Kate as he finally got Clint out of the net. "And bulletproof."
"Unlike Pietro," Clint muttered.
Tony turned over to Clint and was about to open his mouth but Clint was faster.
"He's alive, it's fine!" Clint said with a wave of a hand.
"Pietro? You mean the Speedster guy?" Kate joined the conversation. She was confused, Clint had talked about Pietro dying while they were in Sokovia, fighting Ultron. "What do you mean he's alive?"
"He got revived, don't ask me how. There are a lot of secrets around here and we're told probably about 0,9% of them." Clint put on end to her questions.
Kate nodded and looked down at the arrows on the table. She ran her fingers over the next one. She grabbed it, looking at it more closely. "What's this one?" She asked as she hit it against the table, making sure it was strong enough to handle a bit of roughing.
"Hey!" Clint yelled out and walked over to her, taking the arrow from her hands. "You gotta respect the gear, there, Hawkeye."
"What is it?"
"Boomerang arrow, Kate... It comes back to you in the end. Boomerang," he said slowly, holding the arrow in front of her. "Respect it."
"Why the hell do you need an arrow that comes back to you after you shoot it?" Kate asked, taking the arrow back and getting in her stance once again.
"Because..." Clint said, turning to Tony, expecting him to help him out reasoning his need for an arrow that comes right back at you. "Boomerangs." Clint sighed, shrugging.
Kate chuckled. Her laughter quickly died down as the wire on her bow tensed, her back muscles tightened and locked once again. Her breathing slowed down, she exhaled and relaxed her hand, sending the arrow towards the target on the other side of the room. The arrow hit the target, leaving a mark and it headed back towards Kate. Her eyes widened as she saw the arrow heading back towards her, aiming right at her face. She was quick to take a step to the side and Clint took a step closer, catching the arrow in his hand right before it flew past him.
He turned to look at Kate with an annoyed look on his face as he showed the arrow to Kate again. "Boomerang arrow, Kate. It comes back to you in the end."
Kate stuck her tongue out at Clint and walked over to him, grabbing the arrow roughly from his hands. "I couldn't just stand there and wait for it to hit me in the face! What if I was trying to grab it and missed?" She exclaimed.
"You? Missed?" Clint asked, almost laughing. "You never miss."
Kate sighed, a smile appearing on her lips, "That's a good point."

At one point, Tony was called in the lab which left Clint and Kate, the two Hawkeyes alone in the training room. They had gone through all the arrows that were suitable to use inside. Now the two were on the floor, both sitting while Kate was inspecting the arrows. Clint watched her as she looked at the arrows one by one, tapping them on her palm. Clint noticed her brows furrowing and figured out something was on her mind. "What are you thinking about?"
Kate looked up from the arrow she was holding and turned her gaze to Clint. She looked like she was pondering over whether to tell Clint what was on her mind. She breathed in, exhaling slowly while looking at the boomerang arrow in her hands. "I have an idea for a new trick arrow."
Clint's brows raised as did his interest. He placed his crossed arms over his knees that were propped up from the ground. "Really?" He asked, earning a nod. "What is it?"
"A skittles arrow."
Clint sighed through his nose as his eyes closed. "And why in hell do you need a—" He began but got interrupted by Kate tapping his nose with the arrow.
"Because skittles. Duh," she said with a smile while pulling the arrow back. "Skittles are awesome."
Clint shook her head and was about to speak up but heard FRIDAY's voice echo around the spacious room.
"Mr Barton," the artificial intelligence called out. "Mr Stark has work to do in the lab. He suggested you take Ms Bishop and show her around the compound."
"Okay, I'll do that. Thanks, FRIDAY."
The two stood up from the floor and headed out of the training room. "So, you're going to show me around?"
Clint nodded, "Yeah."
"Can we go by everyone's bedrooms?"
Clint gave her a surprised look which quickly turned into disgust. "What's wrong with you? That's creepy."
"I'm just curious." She shrugged.
"No, you're creepy."
"Curious." Kate fought back.
Clint shook his head, muttering, "Whatever you say, creep."
