She sang to the child.

She rocked the baby in her arms, back and forth.

Back and forth.

The infant was tranquil.  It didn't stir.

She smiled and placed the child in the man's hands.

'Take care,' she thought.  'I'll visit you soon enough.  Hopefully your mother realizes her baby is missing and goes to look for you.  I really do need some money.'
