•Perfection•
Usually English is
My favorite subject
since I love both
Reading and writing.
However this assignment
Was
How do I put it?
....
It was just plain weird
What we were
Told to do
Was to
Well,
Pick a word
Of your choice as
Long as it wasn't
Inappropriate for school
Of course
And with it describe
What that word means to
You.
Now I'm stuck because
How am I suppose to
Pick one word
Out of thousands.
This assignment was
Irrational
Mainly because I got
Nothing yet.
It wasn't until I got home
was when the idea
Finally hit me
Sure, it's a bit
Personal, but
If I think about it
Wasn't it personal to
Begin with since
We're describing a
Word in our own terms
Or maybe that's just me
I'm not sure.
I do know that
I'm going for the word
That has finally popped into
My mind.
It just feels so
Right.
Grabbing my pencil hard
To make sure I don't drop it
Because of how clumsy I am
I finally start working on my assignment.
Perfection
This is the word I
Chose.
Perfection definition is
Flawless as we all know,
But I believe that
Isn't correct in the slightest
Nothing in the world is
Flawless, so how would
We be able to use that
Word daily if for that?
Sure, it's A
Popular word
Used by many
Heck I bet ya
I've heard it at least thousands
Of times on TV shows
And movies
When the characters
Either are making
A party for someone special
Or trying to improve
A skill of theirs
They will say:
"It has to be perfect"
"If I want to impress
The judges, my act has to
Be perfect."
And much more.
Now usually I don't pay attention
To that since it's a show
And I just want to
Enjoy watching it,
But anytime I watch a show or
Movie like that
The person ends up messing up
Right after they say that
And end up devastated, but
In the end
They reach their goals
Happily.
However has anyone
Ever Wondered why
The character was able
To do it the
Second time and not the first?
Sure, that can
Be easily answered as
Either they learned from their
Past mistakes or learned new skills
Which would indeed be true
I suppose
However
I truly believe that
What had changed them
The most
Was
Their perspective of
Perfection.
They finally realized
Perfection's true meaning was
Flawed
And even without the meaning
I would say it's still the most
Flawed word that was out there.
The word is
flawed because
It can corrupt
a Person's mind.
The meaning is flawed because people wanting that perfection
Makes them believe
They can make no
Mistakes themselves
That is not the way
That the word perfection
Should be described as
It's toxic,
So
My version
Of perfection is this;
Perfection is impossible to
Reach, but it doesn't
Mean we can't try.
See
It's true meaning means we all have much to Learn about
The world
And ourselves.
We learn from the mistakes
Our past selfs make
And grow from then on and there
Fourth.
Of course their will be bumps
here and there
Then again what road doesn't
Have them?
Perfection is a journey
A journey to discover
Ourselves
All of our negatives
All of our weakness
All of our pain
All of our Mistakes
All of our flaws
And
All of our Positives
All of our Strengths
All of our Happiness
All of our Successes
All of our flaws
Just
Everything that
Made us
Who we were
Because this is truly what
perfection is to
Me
Simply
A person or animal
Going through
A Journey
to find who
They truly are
And finding those
Who accepts and
Can be called either
There
Family, friend,
or even
A partner.
And Lastly
The easiest way for
Me to describe this word
Is this;
Perfection
Is made up of
Flaws, so it
Cannot be flawless.
Err- The last part
Was Pretty medicore though,
But it's just a school
Assignment,
And I would just be satisfied
With a C
Author Note: I didn't actually do this as a writing assignment at school, but I wanted to pretend that an unknown
Character did. Don't ask why because I'm not sure why I did that myself.
