If today was a sunny day, all the children would go out and play.

When they asked me to come out I'd say, "no! I won't be coming out today!"

They would run around and play with their friends, and I'd stay inside wishing the sunny day would end.

I would stay inside, letting my broken heart stay on the mend, while they go out and play in a summer day that never ends.

The storm booms and roars, rain starting to pour. I stay inside wishing I could be out there, but knowing the danger I wouldn't dare.

If only it was only rain, something like that is plain. If it was just rain today, I could go outside and play.

But lightning and thunder shake the skies, so in my home and room I will stay and sigh. The stress I am to face and the rain is like me, wanting to cry.
