Hello, everyone. welcome to the competition and thanks for taking part.

For your first challenge, you will be given the choice of two topics/prompts. The first one is for a short story (flash fiction and vignettes are fine). The second is for the poem. You may write whichever one you want (not both).

Word count will always be between 100-5000 words.

Short story. Use this prompt in your story (it can be written as is or it can be spread out in your story if you prefer). Please, make sure this prompt is bold in your story:

" The Devil is real. He's not a little red man with pointy horns and a forked tail. He can be seductive, enchanting, beautiful. He once was an angel, an angel who longed to be human, and that's what made him crash and burn, the taint of human stink. That's what made him fall."

Poem. Use both of these prompts in your poem or in the title. Don't forget to make them bold:

a) They told us we needed therapy.

b) Asylum.
