Conner Interrogates Arthur

"You wanted to talk to me?" Arthur asked, stepping toward Conner. Conner tried to keep a straight face with this. He needed to ask the boy some questions and he was going to do it whether he wanted to or not.

"Yep," Conner said, mentally cursing himself for using that vernacular. "Let's go over here, shall we?"

Conner led Arthur to two chairs in the corner of the room. Conner sat in one of them and Arthur hesitantly sat in the other. He knew what Conner wanted to talk about. Of course he knew. Conner had been uneasy around him for the exact reason. He wanted to have talk about intentions.

"I want to know about you and Alex." Conner point-blank said. He didn't even ask, he just commanded. So Arthur obliged.

"We met in Camelot. Merlin and I took her and Mother Goose back to our cabin and they stayed there while making the portal potion. Alex and I gathered the ingredients together because Merlin said it was part of my training. That's that."

Conner glared at Arthur through squinted pupils. He was not convinced.

"What else did you do together?" whether he was sure of what eh was implying or not, he asked it none-the-less.

"We kissed." Arthur said point-blank like Conner.

Conner's squint faltered. He hadn't expected Arthur to be so open about it all. Especially the part about kissing his sister. He was just grossed out by it all.

"When? How much?" Conner didn't really want to know, but he convinced himself he was doing it for his sister's well being. That made it easier to talk about. He was helping his sister. That's all.

"I think it was the second or third night. I don't remember."

That grossed Conner out even more than asking it.

"You don't remember!" Conner exclaimed, quite glad there was no one else in the room. He gasped as a thought hit him- he prayed it wasn't true. "Did you guys make out?" he asked in a whisper.

He could've sworn Arthur smirked.

"Conner, I'm sure you don't want to hear that answer from me,"

Conner was abashed. He stared at Arthur with wide eyes. Her had no idea what to think. He had no idea what to say.  Luckily, he didn't have the chance.

"Hey guys, what's going on?" Bree asked from behind Conner. He had no idea how long she had been there. Conner was so surprised he fell back in his chair and toppled over.

Alex stifled a laugh from next to Bree. Conner got up, embarrassed, and righted his chair.

"Hi Bree, Alex," he said, nodding to each girl in turn. "Wassup?"

He tried to be as nonchalant as possible, but failed. Bree raised an eyebrow and Alex looked at him strangely.

"Um, why are you talking with Arthur?" she asked.

"We were just, um, talking about-" Conner started, but Arthur interrupted.

"Conner was talking to me about you actually." he said, not really leaving any room for discussion. "Which makes me think of something I wanted to talk to you about. Here," Arthur led a confused Alex away. That left Conner and Bree standing together.

"What were you really talking about?" she asked him.

Conner looked down sheepishly. Sure, he was the older, protective brother, but around Bree it was hard to be that way.  He tried to put on his serious face and looked up at Bree.

"I was merely being a older brother and asking about his intentions toward her." Conner said, bracing himself for whatever Bree was going to say next.

"Older brother?" she asked. "I thought you two were twins."

Conner smiled like he was letting her in on a secret.

"Ah, but I was born first," he said.

"Were not!" Alex yelled from across the room.
