And it really got me thinking and so i came up with what is probably my first original analogy. Enjoy!

Life is like a supermarket stocked with everything you can possibly imagine. All the aisles and the different sections of the supermarket are the different continents and countries of the world. All the items in the section of the supermarket you are in are all the unique paths you can choose to take in your life. The currency required to buy these items is the time and hard work you would need to put in to walk that path. You can come in to the supermarket with various coupons of sorts that reduce the prices of these items. These are called Talent Coupons. They only reduce the prices a small bit though, so youd still need to pay some money. So, if you have enough money you can buy an item and if you dont have enough money you cant buy an item regardless of whether you have a Talent Coupon or not.

And then, even if you have enough money to buy that item, things can go wrong. Maybe you get stuck in a long line of people cause that item is so popular. Maybe you didnt account for taxes. Maybe the item you were looking for is out of stock, maybe the cashier starts having technical difficulties. That sucks, but that is life.
