Okay so, for today's discussion I'm going to be talking about my opinion on Amourshipping. It's pretty long so here we go:

So Pokémon XY is tied as being the series I've watched the most times all the way through along with Indigo League. That's probably because the series came out near my early childhood, I really liked the series and my dad got me into Pokémon and one of his favourite games was XY. The original series was probably because my dad grew up with it and it's the easiest to find on streaming platforms.

Anyway, I really like the series so I watched it a lot. But I can't ever remember the Amourshipping kiss around the first few times I watched it. I remember developing a fear of Malamar after that episode where it hypnotised Team Rocket and the others, but not the kiss.

After a few years I started watching through it again and then encountered the kiss. I didn't really have much of a reaction to it though.

Then a few years after, I found out shipping exists. Back when I first found that existed, I thought there were only three possible shipping options. Amourshipping was one of them, but I just couldn't really see it as a ship so I chose a different one instead.

As well as I do judge ships based on their interactions and how well they get along, I also judge them based on their overall aesthetic and how they look as a couple. I didn't want to pair Serena with Ash because I didn't think her hair colour fitted with Ash's aesthetic in terms of fanart and stuff.

After joining the Satogou community, I then found out a lot of Amourshippers bully Firstfriendshippers, which made me actually grow hate towards the ship. I know not all Amourshippers are like that, but a heavy amount of them can be quite toxic and start shipwars with Firstfriendshippers, Pokéshippers, Advanceshippers, etc.

I only found that out because someone on Reddit was called a p***phile because they shipped Ash with Goh, the person doing that was an Amourshipper.

Oh yeah, I'd also like to add that a lot of the toxic Amourshippers are homophobic too. I've had to deal with of homophobia on Deviantart (which I will ho into more depth in another chapter), and most of it have been from Amourshippers who hate the fact I like Satogou.

I do have some Amourshipper friends on Wattpad, and although we don't share similar opinions and sometimes joke about each others ships, but we're still friends. That is the group I call the positive Amourshippers.

I did join the Anti-amourshipping group on Deviantart which I do regret doing and I now can't leave otherwise I'll be kicked off Deviantart (which I'll explain in another chapter), but I would like to say I do respect Amourshippers.

But the only ones I respect are the ones that don't give me any hate for liking Firstfriendshipping and Dreamgirlshipping, I don't respect the toxic ones.
