I'm a little on edge now...

I'm currently at a New Years party my family and several other families and they all have sons my age.

I've known these guys since kindergarten so I'm good around them and all.

The boys all decided to go for a walk and invited me to come with them and my parents were fine with it as long as we stayed away from the beach.

So we started walking towards a little park a few streets away and I find out when we get there that the two of the guys (whom I used to think we're the most responsible of them all) had brought alcohol and fireworks... Illegal fireworks...

One way to freak a girl out...

They didn't actually drink the alcohol and just set off the fireworks...

They were cool and all but I was still standing at the very edge of the park...

We headed back and they were joking about it and all but I was just walking next to one of the other guys, who was younger then me but nice...

They then decided to go jump the fence of their old school to go hang out on the oval. I drew the line there and walked back to the party.

I'm back at the party now but I'm still a bit on edge about it all...

A lesson for the new year... If you aren't comfortable in a situation, whether it's the people, place or active, LEAVE!!!

One way to spend New Years I guess...
