When I was a little girl, I used to not wear make-up. I used to not straighten my hair. I used to not care what anyone thought of me. I used to not care if I have a boyfriend. I used to think boys were gross. I used to think. There was no such thing as "popularity". I used to go weeks without crying. I used to think everyone was my friend. I used to love to go to school. I used to be happy all of the time.

What the f*ck happened?

Well... society, life, and growing up happened.

Being a girl is so ✨extra✨

you wear makeup, but then they tell you that you look better without it, then you don't wear makeup, and they ask you if you slept enough or if you're ill. You have natural hair; then people request you are getting it done. When you get it done, they say you're fake. You are skinny? Gain a little weight. Do you gain weight? Lose it, your fat. If you're a virgin, they tell you that you're a loser. If you aren't a virgin, you are a slut immediately. Do you like parties? No one likes a girl who parties all the time. Do you stay home? No one likes a boring girl. Do you try to make everyone happy? Stop trying to please everyone. Do you focus on yourself? You are self-centred. You don't tell anyone about any of your problems, then they say that you are letting everyone run all over you, but if you talk about it, you're an attention seeker...

Many people often say things like: Woman just doesn't accept compliments. It's so annoying. They clearly just want the attention, and they know that they're beautiful and just want the attention by being called beautiful or pretty or nice.

That's not true.

She sees how her stomach looks when she's standing in her bra.

She sees how her face looks without makeup on.

She sees how her chin looks when she looks down at her reflection.

She sees how her thighs jiggle when she walks or runs.

She sees how her boobs look when she's wearing a top.

She sees how her skin looks when she washes her face.

She sees how her legs look when she looks at all of her scars.

She sees how her hair looks when she wakes up in the morning.

She sees how her wrinkles show when she smiles.

She sees how her stretch marks are visible when she sits down.

So, girls' thing is that they can see every little detail about themselves, details that other people can't see, and they see every little flaw that other people don't even notice.

So when a girl doesn't accept your compliments about her being beautiful or pretty, it's honestly because she feels like she isn't.

And boys and men will NEVER get the issue because they are f*cking men. I know some of you are understanding and accepting. You would never think about catcalling a woman, touching her against her will or calling her hot instead of beautiful or pretty, but so many other men do. And that's the problem.

And even if you one of the "normal" well raised and educated ones, you sure as f*ck said something like: You're not even that fat; Don't be so dramatic; Just eat; Stop crying; Don't act like it's such a big deal etc.

Even unnecessary shit like that hurts guys.

It's not just eating.

If we cry, we always have a reason.

If we say our feeling are hurt or it's a big deal for us, it f*cking is.

We don't "overreact" or being dramatic for no reason.

We have to struggle with so much shit every f*cking day

Men will never get catcalled when they wear a shirt or a tank top.

Men will never get touched against their will while they're waiting for the traffic lights to change or when leaving the mall or the supermarket.

Now it's 99% of all women. A few years ago it still was just 70%.

And that's the problem with being a woman in nowadays society.

If you get raped you'll get asked:

What were you wearing?

How much did you drink?

And suddenly it's your fault that he couldn't keep it in his pants. And I don't f*cking get it.
