What the SPECIAL Stats are in that RPG
So,any Fallout fans will recognize it,but for those who don't....
Its an acronym for the 7 main stats of the Fallout World, and now My RPG as well.
Strength
Perception
Endurance
Charisma
Agility
Luck.
All influence what a character can do and how well they do it on a scale from 1 to 10,1 being the worst and 10 being the best.
Each Stat has an effect on game play, and here I will explain it.
Strength.
Strength effects the amount of RED damage you can do. It also effects what weapons a Character can and can't use.
For example,Toy Freddy can use weapons and armor Plushtrap can't use and vice versa.
It also effects your inventory. Each item has a weight. Your party's carry capacity is taken from your character's combined Strength. So if you have a lot of characters with high Strength, carrying things will not be a problem for your party (multipliers are applied here based on any Perks your character's have.)
It also has the added bonus of increasing all damage delt by Melee Weapons by 10 if the character's strength Is over 7,and this effect is applied after any negative modifiers but before any positive ones,if applicable.
Perception.
This stat effects how well the character is able to do things such as Lock Picking,First Aid,noticing enemies and allies, how early in the turn sequence they start, their ability to use long range guns, etc. It also effects the amount of BLACK Damage you can do.
This stat is a good one to have at least 1 member of your team be good at,such as having Golden Freddy or Toy Chica being your medic. But,those 2 are not helpless,as they can be absolutely lethal snipers if given the right weapons.
It is also a useful tool in Stealth builds, allowing you to notice your enemies but not allowing your enemies to notice you.
Endurance.
Endurance is the Stat that effects how much Physical and Mental health points your character has,and how much health a character can passively regain. It is the Stat that helps you Resist RED damage,as well as the RED part of the BLACK damage.
It also influences what type of enemies target you. Melee enemies target those with low Endurance, and Rangers tend to take on higher Endurance characters.
Charisma.
This stat effects the prices at shops (Charisma stats of your party are taken, and then averaged, then multipliers your party have are applied),NPC's opinion of you,and speech (the chance the risky dialog options will succeed). It is one of the stats that helps you deal WHITE Damage.
This stat is crucial,as not having it will make prices high and people will not like you. Luckily, there is no shortage of recruits with good Charisma, especially Toy Freddy or Rosie.
It is also good for (litterly) driving your enemies insane,as they can then attack eachother.
Intelligence.
This stat is the one that effects the amount of EXP you get after battle,Dialog Options,Energy Weapon usage, and More Advanced healing. It is also the stat that also helps with dealing WHITE Damage and resisting WHITE damage, along with the WHITE half of BLACK Damage.
This stat is also vital to have a good few people at your base be good at to research crafting recipes and do more advanced healing. Just a good all around stat to have.
Also, those good at this stat are no slouch in combat, having access to some of the more powerful non gun or melee weapons in the game.
Agility.
This stat helps with a lot of things, such as Unarmed combat,Close range gun usage,Large Weapon usage,Gun usage in general,Throwing Weapons,Lock Picking,Stealing,The Armor Class a character can wear (higher=better armor),and Action Points (Each action a character can do per turn costs Action points, the better options costing more),along with Sneak and how early the character appears in the turn order.
This stat is VITAL to have for each character,so it is never absolutely crap on any character. It is also crucial for Stealth builds and Gun based builds and parties,as several guns have a minimum Agility requirement to use.
It also effects a character's speed, higher the better.
(For example,Toy Freddy with 5 agility by default moves slower than JJ who has 7 agility by default.)
And finally,
Luck.
This effects any and all chance based minigames you play,Chance of Hitting a Critical Hit,Gambling,Dialog Success, and it helps you deal PALE Damage, and tank it too.
Another vital stat, this one can get you stupid amounts of money real fast, help with risky dialog options,or get you out of a bad situation.
This is also the source of PALE damage for weapons capable of dealing it,the rarest damage type in the game and only a few enemies are resistant to it.
Improving SPECIAL stats.
For every 5 levels a Character gains, they can add 1 level to one of their special stats,up until level 25. The Final Observation can also boost SPECIAL stats, and bosts every existing stat by 2 if it is not already maxed out.
Certain gears and items can temporarily increase a SPECIAL stat until its effect wears off or the gear is unequiping certain gears.
It can also be lowered by certain item effects, enemy attacks, certain perks,or having a Critical injury to a part of your body.
For example, having a critical injury yo the legs would decrease Agility, while having a critical injury to the head would decrease Intelligence for as long as those wounds go untreated.
And that's the SPECIAL stats for you and how they work!!!
