Everytime I tell someone I'm Russian they go....

"OH MEH GOD DO YOU SPEAK RUSSIAN?!"

"DO YOU HAVE A RUSSIAN ACCENT?"

Um yes I speak Russian and if I had a Russian accent you could tell.

And they always tell me to say "I like vodka" in a Russia accent.

Why is this a thing?
