They call her 'The Phoenix'

I'm pretty sure this changes tenses midway

anyway a bit of a backstory to the main character:

They were struck with a memory loss quirk and woke up inside their house.  They decided look around and found a newspaper on their table.

I pick up an abandoned newspaper and start reading the front page,

'Is 'The Phoenix' a villain? Read about how the mysterious Ivy Poole helps another criminal.'

"Ivy Poole? It sounds familiar. Have I heard it before?" I mutter to myself, "OH!"

I pick up a pen and start writing in my notepad, This will probably help me remember everything else.

'Ivy Poole, also known as 'The Phoenix', was all the press would report. Her gorgeous red wings that stretched out to an impressive 2.8 metres. The veil of fire that would clothe her enemies and incinerate them. That she could regulate her body temperature so her fire wouldn't affect her. The grey eye mask she wears that obscures her eyes and tops them with black crosses. Her short red hair and the business suit she would wear all the time. How tall she was, compared to the other heroes.

Her fans went wild. They searched into everything about her. Some stans even tried to find out where she lived. The thing most people hated about her was that she was secretive. No one even knows the state she lives in. Some individuals would say she migrates because she's a 'bird'. haha funny bird joke. The truth is, she doesn't have a home. She would settle at a friend's residence, and then suddenly she was in a different state. The most people ever found out about her was that she was born in Russia.'

Is that it? Why do I remember so much about her but not everything else? Were we close before the incident? Maybe if I meet her, she can help. I'm pretty sure she has a colleague who deals with memory trouble. They could surely use their quirk to help me out.

I put the newspaper back and start shuffling through the books on the shelf. I pull out a maroon book. 'Blood for the Blood God.' sounds interesting enough. As I open the novel, a slip of paper falls out. I kneel and study it,

'if you need help, just go to the tallest tree in the [REDACTED] forest. It has a giant red X on the front so you won't miss it.

-Wouldn't you like to know, weather boy?'

Weather boy? Do they mean me? That's not relevant, should I go? I mean the forest isn't that far away, I might make it in about five minutes.

I picked up my backpack and crammed a couple books into it. I can read these later. Then ran out of the door towards the [REDACTED] forest.
