About art theft...

So.... yeah.

We are talking about this.

Who here has had their own art stolen or traced?

*raises hand*

Mine was traced by my best friend. 

Dont go and harrass them, they had good intentions.

They traced my drawing of @Crayola_goose675 's oc, Koi

Im not going into detail of the ocs looks, but you can see the drawing in my art dump 

I had sent the image to her through text about four days before I posted it. I wasn't too proud of it, it wasn't the best, but it wasn't the worst. The eyes were too grey and clouded up like a dead person's eyes. 

Then, about a month later she facetimes me on her father's computer and shows me this drawing she made on procreate on her drawing tablet. I could recognise the curve of the tip of the snout, and the ears, and most of all my generic eye style and the blobby pupil shape. 

I asked, 'did you reference or trace my drawing of crayola goose's oc?'

She said she traced it and wouldnt post it anywhere. I dont know if she HAS posted it, but @me if she has, please.

I also know SOMEONE else who traces art just to trace it. They dont post it, they just trace it. 

She claims, 'I CHAnGeD tHE CoLor pAlLEtTE i dIdNt sTeAl iT!!!!!1!!1!1!!!!!~'

If your reading this, *insert name of person who i dont want to get attacked*

Stealing art isn't a joke. 

yeah, art theives can come up with the excuse, 'iF YoU dIdNt wAnT iT sTOLen ThEn dOnT PoSt iT OnLIneEeeeEeEeEeEe!111!!!1~'

You just admitted to stealing it.

Just by saying those EXACT WORDS.

You know what your doing is wrong.

Just stealing someone's work is wrong.

Here's an example:

Angie is an artist with a small community. Angie drew a huge digital art peace in the art style that is hardest for her, realism, and took her over a week to find free time to work on the digital art piece. The piece included three people, two of her friends and herself. This shows Angie and her friend's faces. Jamie runs a birthday party business. They want a logo for their business. Jamie looks around on the internet since they dont want to give their money for a commission. Stealing art should be easy, right? Jamie finds Angie's drawing on Instagram and steals it. Jamie makes it the profile picture of her business account without crediting Angie. Jamie's business is going great and Angie sees an ad for Jamie's party business. Angie notices that her drawing is in the ad and makes a post about it. Since Angie is a small artist, not many people see the post and not many people believe her.

See?

Art theft is horrible.

Especially when it's a small artist

Art theft is everywhere.

Now that, my friends is why you put your signature on your drawings in the main part of the drawing so the thief cant crop out your signature :)

ALSO: I found who made the picture on the cover, it's a youtuber named, 'Mud sibs' on youtube. I told my friend who sent me this about who made the picture and they told me ☜(ﾟヮﾟ☜)
