Poem: The Untouched Drink

The Untouched Drink

You poor soul
Chained up and lost
Unable to unfold
Lost in the silly things
This lost society is built upon
You're not really here
But you're convinced
That there's no other way
Your life is terribly grey
You think this and think that
What a poor, simple mind
What a pathetic little heart
Don't tell me what you think
I already knew
From the look in your eyes
You're mind is askew
Trying to fathom what they're teaching you
Your poor soul is being lied to
All these lies are on the brink
Of truth and error both, don't you think?
You poor soul
Looking for the right word
The correct way to say
The facts that were declared by those who were the same
As your poor self
Lost, sitting on the shelf
Where everybody leaves themselves
And one day you will fade
Like they all do
You won't regret the life you made
But how much I do on behalf of you
How wasteful those things had been
Those tasks you had done
The goals you had chased
So fruitless had your decisions been
That it hurts me to see you leave
Without a drop of life in you
To spill once you leak.

So, this is too complex for me to explain in depth. Also, it's kinda... rude, in a sense. It's basically saying most people are living a lie without ever realising it. I'd say this is one of my less artistic poems - I find it kind of annoying, though it has meaning.
