I'm only a human being
Still only fifteen years old
I don't know what I haven't been told
Don't blame me for what I say
Because in a few years I'll do the same
You don't need to warn me
Of the future I am writing
For I won't understand today
But tomorrow I will feel the same way
As you do about the mistakes I make
It's not that I hate to listen
I'm just a child still
I don't find it easy to kill my dreams
The way you do every day
And wake up like it is the only way
In my young mind colours still exist
I do not obey when you insist
Because to me there is no fixed list
Of what is right and what is wrong
I am only a little being
I prefer my own reality of things
You can't blame me for how I think
Because you will only know what you've been told
I refuse to listen to the words and grow old
This heart beats for the masterpiece in my head
If you ruin it then surely I am ruined
The reality is something I refuse to comprehend
For I am still a child inside
And I refuse to let this child die
For the sake of a common lie
Of a stupid thing called 'life'
I will not cease to always speak
My thoughts with words free
Of pride and certainty
For there is nothing sure about reality
We are part of it, but who are we?
We can not see what is us
Like how simply to see ourselves we need a glass
How do you know if it is true?
That he or she is like you
And you are the same as her
What if it's all a blur
But you were born with the eyes
To make sense of the faded lines
We are all lying to ourselves
But only certain lies are to us true
And those who disagree with you
Are to you being untrue
Like I said I am only a human being

So I refuse to go by what you claim
Is what I should believe in
When it was only you that described it in such a way
I will remain a child inside

But I feel that one day with your lies
