The Fate Of Humanity

empty bodies roam this world

the land is cold and life has long passed

we speak with bitter words

our hearts seemingly frozen 

like the once cold ice

wicked smiles

dulled eyes

our inconsiderate ways bind us like chains

while the little light that remains

begins to dim, fading away

but their lies fail to fool me

like they fool the eyes that no longer see

we say we're cold and we feel no more

we say we're hard and we care no more

we say we're lost and we search no more

we say we're wrong and we try no more

but beneath the dry, cracked scales

and the hooded, dark gaze

the heart weeps in the darkness of its cage

drowning in the wrongs in which we bathe

and yearning for a reason to remain

i listen as you speak

but i seize to understand

i watch as you smile

though i see it not in your eyes

i hear the wolf inside you as it howls

i hear the child inside you as it cries

i hear the monsters as their roars echo from your silence

i see you, and the demon that's damaged you

i see it as it lurks behind your gaze

and looks for another prey

it's a pity it's already eaten away your soul,

for you're no longer in control.
