Free Me

This is a piece of writing that sort of shows who I am and my intense love for metaphors. I have a lot of moments like these, so... Yeah. Enjoy, chum! - PBJ

Random Side-Note: So, I've been getting into a lot of music recently and Troye Sivan, The Chainsmokers and Melanie Martinez are literally taking over my life right now. Any artists or music that's been doing the same to you recently (or maybe even your whole life)? Tell me in the comments - I'd love to know. Maybe check them out, too. Here's two of the songs that have been literally killing me in the inside: Closer by The Chainsmokers and For Him by Troye Sivan. :) x

Free Me

❝You don't have to say I love you to say I love you.❞ ~ Troye Sivan's 'For Him'

We were far away, somewhere distant and deserted with the exception of our existence. His hand was holding mine and we stood at the edge of an endlessly tall cliff that towered over sea-blue clouds and a night sky full of stars that never left our eyes. We were falling inside, but we were going to take a leap to fall with our souls. We never said 'I love you', but we heard it from each other's silent words.

Oliver chugged on his beer, howling into the night's horrid silence every time his lips left the mouth of the glass bottle. My electric blue hair whipped the winds that carried our freedom, my eyes were focused not on the road or the end of it or the colour light up ahead, it stared straight over the edge of the world in the far distance.

There was no one around anymore.

There was no one to kill our dreams and spit on our wonders.

There was no one to stop us from flying without wings or swimming in the clouds.

We were finally free.

I screamed into the night air and leaned forward in my seat, feeling lighter than air and seeing colours no one else had ever seen. Oliver's voice mingled with mine and we felt invincible.

I let go of my grip on the wheel and Oliver laughed, the sound bubbling in my ears and tickling my heart. "One..." I whispered, letting the single word ride our winds into oblivion.

"Two..." Oliver's whisper echoed in my head and I felt his voice ring from my heart to my ears.

"Three."

We threw ourselves out of the car, screaming through our satisfied grins.

There was a second of our souls finally landing on satisfied ground.

And then a beautiful burst of colour as Earth's magic came to life, the orange lights shining in our colourful eyes. We stared at each other, smiles that only we could wear painting our faces with utter happiness, his green and silver eyes saying a million things at once and my ice-blue ones delved in his perfection.

In the silence filled with our souls' howls, we felt our hearts like one centre of the universe shared by two incomplete souls come together to make a whole.

- the end -
