TODAY I SAW CRAZY RICH ASIANS!!!

it is probably my #1 movie right now ( fantastic beasts is now in #2 lolz )

( I ALSP JUST REALISED THE PERSON WHO PLAYS ASTRID IS IN FANTASTIC BEASTS OH MY GOD DOMINIC AHDKAKDK )

BUT OMG

i started crying a lot in the very beginning bc it hit me that this is the first movie in our generation with a virtually all asian cast that has made an IMPACT in hollywood already

here's what i put on my message board earlier:

" EVEN IF YOU THINK ITS A STUPID ROM COM, IT IS NOT OK

PLEASE PLEASE GO WATCH IT AND SUPPORT MINORITY HOLLYWOOD!!!!

i started crying a lot at the very start of the movie because this is the first movie of my generation with a 99% all Asian cast. the power and the popularity of this movie is astronomical. i walked into the theatre expecting no one, but it was PACKED. that is AMAZING! and people of all ethnicities CLAPPED at the end!!!!

i love this movie and please please watch it!!! it doesn't matter what age or ethnicity you are. YOU WILL ENJOY IT!!!! "

the whole movie was creative, artistic, beautiful, HILARIOUS, and just all around THE BEST

i love constance SO MUCH O M G she is such a great spokesperson for asian americans and minorities in hollywood, not including all her tweets and actions against whitewashing so YES QUEEN SLAY * clap clap clap *

and all of them asian bois were pretty cuutteeeee eheheheh

omg the jokes were REALLY FUNNY ; awkwafina and ken jeong have outdone themselves once again

aND they kept it pretty close to the book which i was really happy about

also my mom cried which made me cry more during the sad scenes :')

but like a lot of them asian actors and actresses are like famous chinese people and i was like HEY I KNOW YOU

( like the mom is the renown and amazing michelle yoeh dang queen she has been slaying the movie industry for over 3 freaking decades!!!! )

anywho

i saw some people saying this is like the asian black panther, and while i still expect my all asian superhero movie ( cough silk cough ), ID AGREE!!

i kept thinking about the representation and how people all over the world would be watching it and finally appreciating asians in hollywood and then crying again even at the not sad parts LOL

all in all, i cried a lot for all the asian actors and actresses throughout the years who have been working their butts off for a movie like this, showing that they can work hard and act exceptionally while also enduring through yellow face ( whitewashing ) and less pay ( ex: hawaii five-oh )

ITS A REALLY GOOD MOVIE
