Jasper's one is here!
Surface Pressure by Encanto
Singing
--Third Person View--
Jasper was curled into a ball, stress building up on her, anger, so much. So she sung.
"I'm the strong one, I'm not nervous
I'm as tough as the crust of the earth is
I move mountains, I move churches
And I glow 'cause I know what my worth is"
Tears fell down Jasper's face as she felt the pressure building in her even in this moment.
"I don't ask how hard the work is
Got a rough indestructible surface
Diamonds and platinum, I find 'em, I flatten 'em"
Jasper began to sob a little bit, why.. why did she have to fail Naya, and so many?
"I take what I'm handed, I break what's demanded
But
Under the surface"
Jasper tried to stop the sobs, but she couldn't. She just couldn't hold back the sobs.
"feel berserk as a tightrope walker in a three-ring circus
Under the surface"
Jasper shook her head, she heard Apple the dog barking with concern but she didn't care.
"Was Hercules ever like "Yo, I don't wanna fight Cerberus"?
Under the surface"
Jasper sat up, letting tears fall.
"I'm pretty sure I'm worthless if I can't be of service"
Jasper felt as though Naya was with her, she looked around but.. Naya wasn't there. She was dead.
"A flaw or a crack
The straw in the stack
That breaks the camel's back
What breaks the camel's back it's"
Jasper stood up, walking to the broken window of her cabin.
"Pressure like a drip, drip, drip that'll never stop, whoa
Pressure that'll tip, tip, tip 'till you just go pop, whoa"
Jasper leaned against the area where the window used to be, why? Why did she break it..?
"Give it to your sister, your sister's older
Give her all the heavy things we can't shoulder
Who am I if I can't run with the ball?
If I fall to"
Jasper stared out the broken window, tears still falling, her own mind going insane.
"Pressure like a grip, grip, grip and it won't let go, whoa
Pressure like a tick, tick, tick 'til it's ready to blow, whoa"
Jasper turned, walking over to Apple.
"Give it to your sister, your sister's stronger
See if she can hang on a little longer
Who am I if I can't carry it all?
If I falter"
Jasper bent down, petting Apple. She saw butterflies fly into her cabin, circling her.
"Under the surface
I hide my nerves, and it worsens, I worry something is gonna hurt us"
Jasper stepped back, eyes wide as tears still fell.
"Under the surface
The ship doesn't swerve as it heard how big the iceberg is
Under the surface"
Jasper felt a butterfly land on her hair just like when she... She shook her head to get the butterfly off.
"I think about my purpose, can I somehow preserve this?
Line up the dominoes
A light wind blows"
Jasper fell down in her own dorm, what was happening..?
"You try to stop it tumbling
But on and on it goes
But wait
If I could shake the crushing weight of expectations
Would that free some room up for joy"
Jasper started to calm down as Apple barked, the butterflies flew around her.
"Or relaxation, or simple pleasure?
Instead we measure this growing pressure
Keeps growing, keep going
'Cause all we know is"
Jasper stood up, calmed now, the butterflies flew around her, more coming and some leaving.
"Pressure like a drip, drip, drip that'll never stop, whoa
Pressure that'll tip, tip, tip 'til you just go pop, whoa-oh-oh
Give it to your sister, it doesn't hurt"
Jasper walked, thinking about.. Her father Apollo now, he never cared of her, or about what she did, except to put all the pressure on her.
"And see if she can handle every family burden
Watch as she buckles and bends but never breaks
No mistakes just"
Jasper stopped, looking at the butterflies, one landed in her hair, and she didn't feel like stopping it.
"Pressure like a grip, grip, grip and it won't let go, whoa
Pressure like a tick, tick, tick 'til it's ready to blow, whoa"
Jasper smiled a little, putting her hand out as a butterfly landed on it.
"Give it to your sister and never wonder
If the same pressure would've pulled you under
Who am I if I don't have what it takes?"
Jasper soon sighed, a smile on her face now.
"No cracks, no breaks
No mistakes, no pressure"
Jasper saw as she finished the butterflies disappear, "What the..?" She muttered, but she felt better and that was what mattered. Jasper sat down on her bed, she felt glad that she let out all the pressure.
-------
I chose this one because Jasper, to me, has too much pressure put on her to be the strongest of her and Saffron, so she has ended up wanting to breakdown on so many occasions so that is why this fits.
