(note: dream's counter argument was privatized or something else but for the most part everything that follows still stands)

well this is going to be something that I hope gets quelled in the next months. but if anything if I am wrong then so be it. 

so with that said lets get this story started:

in this chapter I try to find out if this guy:

is innocent or not. 

now before anyone starts the "why" train, let me explain:

 1. I have my right to an opinion. 

2. I have spent far too much time diving through reddit and internet for this chapter. and trust me, it takes a lot of will power not to hit something

3. I'm giving a hard verdict and my own opinion, which if you have a problem with refer to point 1

and yes, I know I'm late but I wanted my bases covered. so I spent days roaming the depths of the YouTube, google and even reddit and hopefully find either evidence for my claims or this job done but better...

first I'm going to give a recap for everyone tuning in:

the mod team calculated dreams pearl drops and his blaze rods drops. this has led to many people siding with and against dream. and well this spiraled into war.

so in this metaphorical court case, the prosecution has the following summed up in three points:

1. they've done their work and its been verified

2. the odds are against dream as 1 in 7.5 trillion(biased in favor of dream and its the most common number i get so that will be used)

3. dream's defense was debunked by reddit(the math was but not the files or the use of mods, which he linked to on google drive in his defense video, which i will link)

if anyone thinks this is a done deal there are a few holes in the argument against dream that hampers the prosecution, also in three points:

1. are these the full drops?( brought up because if this point is indeed true, that means the main points that the simulation and the statistics are effectively useless)

2. why would dream do all his runs on stream (as dream stated he could've done this run offline, used the mod or tampered files, get a top run and no one would've noticed anything)

3. his files show no proof of tampering or prior modification( this is verifiable in the fact that not only did he put download links to said files in his response video he also gave instructions to see if they were tampered with or not and thus this fact is verified)

for dream and his defense their points goes like this:

1. he has no reason to cheat( this came right from the horse's mouth, dream quite literally said that he had little reason to cheat in the first place)

2. dream got luckier than illumina, who in accordance to the mods was luckier than 91% of speed runners. so by that logic, if there were only 100 people who speed ran Minecraft then only 9 would beat illumina( I don't know the exact number of Minecraft speed runners so I used 100 to paint a clear picture for this point)

3. I know this has been brought up in the point earlier but I need to restate it show its importance to the final verdict, if dream's files are indeed clean then the mod team is wrong. but if the files are altered then the statistics are useless. but since the math was verified then the files would have to be indeed clean and unmodified. also if they were in fact tampered then this would've been an open and shut case and i wouldn't be doing this.

so the final verdict, at least in my opinion, dream is innocent despite all statistical odds being against him.

in the end you're free to believe what ever you want. so even if all that i wrote meant nothing and your conclusion remains unchanged so be it.
