(And yes another time travel rp... because I can....)

You stared at the object in your hand, a small marble no bigger around than a quarter and painted to resemble a globe. It had an odd sheen to it that you couldn't quite describe other than 'rainbow' and an even more curious aura to it. You'd bought it from a local thrift store thinking that it's looked neat and that you could add it to your collection of interesting items, you'd been told it was very old (though whether that was true or not was anyone's guess).

After arriving home you unlocked your front door and due to not paying close enough attention to where you were stepping your foot (you still had your eyes on the marble) you ended up tripping and falling flat on your face in the middle of your doorway. The marble went flying and you watched in horror at the thought of it breaking. But before it could reach the ground something happened and a bright light filled your vision. When the light died down you gaped in shock and awe.

The marble was floating in the air, glowing and slowly spinning, and surrounding it were five large ovals of swirling light. Each one, when you got up and carefully took a closer look, held a moving image, like a movie of sorts, of different places and people. It was almost thrilling. After a bit more inspection you realized that these were actually different periods in history. Each displaying what had been happening in separate time periods.

There was one that looked like a pirate ship of sorts but somehow not as the history books or movies described. It was gently sailing out at sea.

The second showed a thick forest that twinkled every now and then with an unknown light, fireflies maybe?

The third had a small child sitting with his back to you in what looked to be a stone structure of some sort. A pup of a coyote sat beside him.

The fourth was an image of a young man, probably in his twenties or early thirties, seemingly teaching a young boy, who looked to be in his late childhood or early teens, how to utilize a staff. (At least that's what it looked like to you at any rate).

The last one depicted what appeared to be a landscape resembling the African Savanna. Different herds of Antelope, zebra, and giraffes could be seen grazing.

It was obvious to you that these must be portals of some sort. And that, that marble was most likely far older than the shopkeeper had imagined.

Now, the question was: what do you do next?
