Outsiders fic

(I had to write a sequel for the outsiders a time ago so here it is)

Steve's POV
I sighed, there was basically no sales at all today. Sodapop and I had been bored out of our minds the whole day. Suddenly, a group of girls walked in. They had been coming frequently for the last few weeks. They were an odd bunch. The group appeared as a mix of both socials and greasers. They always seemed to be expanding; there was a new girl every time they came. Almost all the girls had some sort of nickname. Pixie, Jazz and Princess were just a few examples that I picked up on.
"Hey Sodapop" one of the girls, Molly, said in a singsong voice. She was most likely going to flirt with him, like usual.
"What's up?" Soda responded. In the background I pick up another conversation.
"So Byte, if we buy five sodas, two energy drinks, and some donuts, how much will it cost?" Said one of the girls to the other, Byte.
"How many donuts?" Asked Byte
"Five, maybe?" Responded the other girl, now recognizing her voice as Jazz's.
"$14.50, I think" she answered.
"Smarty Pants" Jazz teased.
The pair hosting the previous conversation wandered to the front. Jazz had dyed purple hair, I could only presume she was a soc. Molly had brownish-blonde hair with black and purple glasses. The newest girl to the group, Byte, looked strangely familiar. I couldn't see all of her features due to her hoodie, but I could her see long, brown hair. Her hoodie was black with some neon green beads hanging from the drawstrings. She was wearing blue skinny jeans and a leather, cross body purse. She pulled out her wallet.
"No, no, I'll pay" insisted Jazz.
"Molly, stop flirt'n with Sodapop and come over here!"
"Awww, no fun" Molly grumbled and sighed.
"Five sodas, two energy drinks, and five donuts. That would be $14.50, correct?" Jazz asked me while looking at Byte.
"Correct" I smiled. Both Byte and Jazz blushed, Byte probably due to being correct. Jazz was pretty cute. She was kind, friendly and pretty. Unfortunately, she was a soc and I didn't know if she was interested.
Molly interrupted my thought "do you two boys want to join us at the Dance-in-The-Park tomorrow?" She asked.
"Sure" "why not" Soda and I both responded at almost the same time. I noticed Princess, who had been silent this whole time, stalking up to Byte from behind. She pounced and pulled back Byte's hood. Byte yelped and jumped up, blushing furiously. Now she really looked familiar, like someone I hadn't seen in awhile.
"Have we meet before?" I asked Byte.
"Possibly," she responded, still bright red.
"Come on Byte, quit lollygagging" Jazz insisted, dragging Byte out the door.
"See you two tomorrow!" Jazz said.
"You can bring some friends if you want" Molly sang.

~~~
I swear, that boy(Steve, was it?), I knew him from somewhere. I need to find out who he was or it's going to bug me. I paced in her room. I was wearing a light blue blouse and nice pants. It was not what I would normally wear, but Jazz insisted. Jazz was wearing a full out dress. Probably to impress Steve, which goes without telling that she has a crush on. It's almost funny, Molly thinks Sodapop is cute and Jazz likes Steve, who's next? Molly asked the boys to bring friends, it could be interesting. But I need to use this night to find out how I know Steve, somehow. Jazz's yelling interrupted my train of thought.
"What's taken you so long, we need to go" she shouted.
"Chill, I'm coming" I shouted back.
By the time we got to the park were the party was hosted, I had tuned out most of the conversation going on. Molly bumped into me
"Huh?" I asked
"What do you think about him?" Molly asked.
"Think about who?" I questioned
"Sodapop, dummy!"
"He's cute, I guess. I dunno," I shrugged. We saw Sodapop and Steve leaning against a large tree, along with a few other boys and even a girl. Sodapop introduced us to them.
"This is Ponyboy and Darry. Their both my younger and older brothers. This is Two Bit and lastly, this is Cherry." We all shared a hi or hello and introduced ourselves. I noted that Cherry and Ponyboy were holding hands. Cute, they looked good for each other. We walked off to the to were the party was manly at and before I could ask both Jazz and Steve had disappeared.
"Great," I murmured "just great."
    At this point it was just me and Princess, noticing Molly dragging Sodapop away, plus Cherry, Ponyboy, Two Bit and Darry. Princess pulled my sleeve.
"Come on, free food!" I laughed, of course free food would make her excited.
Both Princess and I had grown up as greasers. She was a close friend of mine when I lived in the girls home. We got separated when I was adopted by Jazz's family, which makes me a social. I managed to finagle Princess into the group. Of course, their was other greasers in this all girl group, but not many. I don't really like to think about times before the girls home, which I was placed in three years or so ago, but I did have an older brother. An older brother....
"I'm such a idiot!" How could I have not recognized him. I mean, it's been awhile but still, you don't forget that.
"What did you do?" Princess asked.
"Um, nothing. Why?" I responded
"You just called yourself an idiot." Oops, I must of said that out loud. Before I could responded, Princess let out a high pitched squeal and pointed to where Sodapop and Molly were currently at. A slower song was playing and they were dancing together. I wasn't expecting that to happen, a social and a greaser together don't often do such things. Steve and Jazz were walking over to us. Here my chance, it may be the only one I get all night. I politely walked to the two.
"Um, Steve, can I talk to you?" I asked. I looked at Jazz.
"Alone, preferably."
"Sure?" he responded, puzzled at my sudden request.
