Grell x child! reader
~
Her feet made a gentle tapping sound. The girl ran through the streets of London. Tears wet her red jacket sleeves. She didn't dare to stop running, fearing someone or something would catch her. Suddenly, she felt the floor beneath her disappear. She fell down the short flight of stairs. Wounds were made and reopened. She bit her jacket to silence her screams of pain. She weakly pulled herself up to the side of a building. Her vision was fading. She cried silently.

There's a shop down the street,
where they sell plastic rings,
for a quarter a piece, I swear it.
Yeah, I know that it's cheap,
not like gold in your dreams,
but I hope that you'll still wear it.

"Someone sure loves to wear red." A voice echoed throughout the streets. The girl's head shot up to see a man looming over her. His red hair flowed past his waist. He looked to be 5'7 (his real height). He was holding a chainsaw. She tried to crawl away but the man took a step closer to her. "Don't run away from me." He whispered. The girl ignored the man's calls and managed to stand up. "Fine," he huffed. "We'll play a game of hide and seek."

Yeah, the ink may stain my skin,
and my jeans may all be ripped.
I'm not perfect, but I swear,
I'm perfect for you.

She didn't get far. She managed to hide behind a dumpster. She could hear the click clack of the man's shoes and her own ragged breaths. "I see you!" The voice made her shiver. She didn't dare to move at all. "I found you!" The man yelled. That made her curl up into a ball. She didn't see the figure behind her. He put a hand around her mouth. "I'm Grell." The man said and the girl passed out.

..and there's no guarantee,
that this will be easy.
It's not a miracle ya need, believe me.
Yeah, I'm no angel, I'm just me,
but I will love you endlessly.
Wings aren't what you need, you need me.

She awoke to see a lot of eyes on her. She saw 'Grell' turn around and squeal in delight. She buried her face into the blankets. "You just violated our rules!" One man yelled. "She needs to be killed!" She could hear feet clacking on the floor and a hand rubbing her back. "You have to let me keep her!" Grell huffed. The girl buried her face deeper into the blankets, only for Grell to rip the blankets away from her face. "I don't want you to die." Grell said while brushing a strand of (h/c) hair away from her face.

There's a house on the hill,
with a view of the town,
and I know how you adore it.
So I'll work everyday,
through the sun, and the rain,
until I can afford it.

"You were supposed to be killed almost five years ago." The man named William said. "The reason why you weren't killed was because Mr. Redhead over here wanted to save you." The girl crooked her head to the side in confusion. "I was protecting you." Grell beamed while putting an arm around the girl. She cracked the smallest of smiles, thankful for grell's kind action.

Yeah, your friends may think I'm crazy,
cause they can only see,
I'm not perfect, but I swear, I'm perfect for you.

Grell took the girl walking. The moon was still illuminating the dark sky. Grell insisted on carrying her on her shoulders, which she reluctantly accepted. She saw many things she never saw before, mostly because of the fact that she only came up to grell's waist. She plucked a rose from a bush. She felt a sharp pain on her thumb. She looked to see it was pricked by the thorn, blood oozing out of the wound. She licked the blood away. "Oh dear are you ok?" Grell asked while taking her hand. She nodded her head.

The girl grew up. Her (E/C) orbs shined brightly as she watched Grell replay the memories for the dying person. "Do all people get their memories replayed?" Grell smiled at the girl's question. "Sometimes we can't get to the person so their memories aren't replayed." He simply replied. The girl sighed. Grell walked up to her and put an arm around her. "I promise you, (Y/N) that I'll replay your memories when you die." Grell promised. Her eyes shined brighter than before. "Thank you." She mumbled.

"It's time for you to do a job for me." William said. "There's a demon who's working for a young boy with black hair. I want you to spy on this demon and find out his weaknesses." I nodded my head. Getting to the demon was easier than I thought. I worked as a maid there with a girl named Mei-Rin. One day, a woman dressed in red dropped off a man to work on his butler skills. I watched as the demon controlled the man. Maybe, just maybe this demon had a weakness.

"Hey (Y/N), wanna come help?" The boy wanted me to come and look for someone named "jack the ripper". The demon was going to tag along so I decided to follow the boys. We came across the murder, which I saw the girl being killed before my eyes. The murder walked out. It was the man from the manor. He started to pulled what seemed to be a wig? When he was done, I realized who it was. "Grell?" I said while stepping forward. The demon stepped in my way. "Please step aside my lady." He said bluntly.

(I know you need me)
You need me,
(I know you need me)
You need me,
(I know you need me)

In the end, the lady in red laid on the floor dead. The demon took grell's weapon. "Let's see how this works." I fling myself forward at the demon. "Back off." I hissed. The demon sighed. "I hope the young master won't get mad at me for this." And he swung. I braced for the impact but it never came. William blocked the attack. "I'll take that." He said and jumped on top of Grell. I ran up to Grell and ran my hand through his hair. "You'll be fine ok?" I said quietly. "I-I hope so." Grell mumbled which made me laugh. I kissed the top of his head. "Get well soon."

(A/N): the ending was so off of what I originally wanted to do but oh well. It's an "exercise" for my writing
