Astrid's most defining feature is her intellect, which is a driving force of her powerful, but hard to control, quirk. She is quite short and petite, and has an overall doll-like appearance. Her hair is naturally an ocean blue, with bubbles or clouds at the ends. The odd white substance at the end of her hair creeps up her head throughout her life, specifically at certain milestones. Astrid is very smart and collected, but at times lacks common sense, instead letting her curiosity drive her. This has been a problem when she uses her quirk.

Astrid's quirk, hydrokinesis, has been a major problem for her until she entered UA. Her quirk is insanely powerful, as it can control any type of water as long as she is fully hydrated and the water's final destination is water. Astrid has to know biology well enough so she can injure someone as they are stopped from performing a certain action, but not handicapped or killed.
