You don't know how nostalgic it was for me
I'm a long time MCPE player. I played it starting from 0.1 alpha so when the game had just came out on Mobile. I grew up beside it... I seen it change... I seen it evolve... I seen changes that were WOW! but now is a just a part of the game that is mostly ignored or don't get appreciated enough...
Before...
Beds: you had to walk home every time you die. So you had no choice but to build your home really close to spawn. I remember when beds were first added. I was freaking out with excitement. Lol.
Infinite world: You had really limited area to build... to explore... to mine... to get diamonds. So you really have to keep count of the resources that you had (Sure I may be over doing it but it sure felt like it). But then when infinite worlds were added... (I thought my IPad would keep crashing because of the world taking up too much storage space tbh) I had more places to explore! I could go one direction for hours WITHOUT running into a world border! It felt like a whole new game!
Redstone(redstone stuff): You had to do everything manually. Or use signs to make magic happen but it was limited and you had to put the signs back everytime you use the contraption. So it was one time-use. But when redstone was added it didnt really have a function at all and was just for show. But when it was added a function it changed MCPE forever! You could build contraption without having to rebuild it everytime! You could make contraptions you could have never done with signs! It felt like things you can do was unlimited! It was REALLY big improvement! And it only got better and better when stuff like pistons and dispensers got added! But now days... It all mostly gets ignored by the community because its too hard... And to those who actually know what they are doing instead of watching tutorials on it everytime! I salute you!
Nether: Almost everyone was getting bored of finding the thing they already found before. But then the nether reactor was added. That thing still has a spot in every old MCPE-er's heart. Even though it may not be better the the actual nether... it was the best placeholder to ever exist in my opinion. I was really sad when it got removed. To wake up the next morning to only find out that its function had been removed and that it drops its ingredients when you tried to pick it back up was really sad... I only had one already crafted one and I couldn't craft another one... I mean you can still get it through commands but... I still don't know why they changed the texture of it AFTER they removed it. Who does that? Any ways... When the nether got added. There was EVEN more places to explore! Finding your first nether fortress was the BEST feeling ever! But getting killed by ghasts wasn't...
Command blocks(commands): It sure felt like the possibilities with redstones were endless but it really wasn't... There were still things you could not do... Still thing you had to make HUGE contraptions for. But then when commands were added. You could do things even more easily! You could now save a lot of time by just typing some words and numbers into the chat! But there was still no way to automate it... And when the command blocks were added it was everything people wanted! You could do automate things! You could make a really small contraption with command blocks that you had to build HUGE contraptions for! You could make things you couldn't have ever imagined of doing before! It was a miracle!
And many more: There is still thing that I haven't mentioned that need more appreciation. Like book and quills! With out that you had to write everything on signs!
Well that everything I have time for. I'm not saying you should appreciate everything about minecraft. I just wanted to say what I thought after watching the video.
